Making up MP3 CDs for car
Occasionally I make up a CD to listen on my travels rather than use phone.
However there has always been an irritating issue I can't work out why it happens. The CDs work well on the hi-fi and they also display correctly in her car. Here is how I want them to appear where you see the artist and song. Here is how some appear. Always the same tracks no matter if I copy the entire album or make up a compilation. It always get the first letter of the song and artist correct On the list it understands the MP3 text. Anyone know the reason that it displays some wrongly? |

I would look for any illegal characters that the BM radio can't display in the song title, or possibly even investigate as far as the root mp3 file to see if that is named appropriately. So even though it looks right in iTunes or whatever program you use, you might find the actual mp3 file deep in whatever directory it lies in, is not named properly or contains weird characters etc

As above, check your ID3 tags on the mp3 files and file\folder depth.

I used to get this... Make sure you get whatever software you use to copy ID3v3 tags back to ID3v1 as the non iDrive head unit is pretty antiquated. It *should* work then (at least in my experience)
the list shows track names not track info which is why it looks ok.

I tried with iTunes once, and gave up after one attempt.
Now I use Windows Media Player, and just drag and drop the files/folders I want. So much easier.
