Help needed please..Driving on the continent with Xenon's
Hi All,
I am having a major headache here!! I am going to France from the UK next week and I need to alter the direction of the beam on my xenon headlights. BMW have confirmed that there is a switch and told me to go to the dealer. The dealer say that they will do it for me but I need to do it myself as I will be driving in the dark in the UK first. The dealer then told me that I could do it myself by accessing the lights through the panel in the wheel arch but would not show me how.. I cant find the switch as I have no idea what I am looking for.. is it black, silver or what!! Any help would be much appreciated.!! Cheers Jason |

Hi Jason,
Have a look on page 120 of your owners handbook. It does not mention changing the beam direction, but it does show were "a cover" is located in the wheel arch. If you have no joy, let me know and I will contact my dealer tomorrow and ask them as I have xenon's aswell . Regards, Chris

I don't think they are switches, but screws that you turn. They are outlined in the picture. Is this what you are talking about? Hope you get this resolved.

Hi Jason,
Finally managed to call my local dealer today! sorry for the wait. I was told that you do access the adjustment though the panels in the wheel arch as I mentioned the other day. You have to take the rear of the headlight off to access the adjustment screw. But.... I was told not to attempt to do it, as you could do more harm that good. I was told the xenon beam is low and wide and you would have no problem driving aboard. If you do want your lights adjusted it will be approx. 30 minutes labour for each time you have them adjusted. Bottom line was....don't bother!
