Hey it's come up a few times so I should address it. I think at this point, I'll just use it for now unless the right price comes by.

After a bit, I'll probably slash the price.

Here is my personal, subjective analysis from experience and comparisons--there are 5 Element Vapor clones on the market.

Tier 1 - Taiwan Import (mine)

• logos mimicked almost perfectly
• case and accessories mimicked almost perfectly + carbon fiber backing
• good fitment
• screws are good quality
• limited color choices
• finish ok
• button squarish, not as rounded

Tier 2 - Hong Kong Clone (the gpxluke clone)

• logos mimicked ok (hint look at the "4")
• case and accessories mimicked almost perfectly BUT no carbon fiber backing
• good fitment
• screws are ok quality
• all color choices
• finish ok
• button squarish, not as rounded

Tier 3 - Hong Kong Clone #2

• logos mimicked ok
• case and accessories ok + carbon fiber backing
• same look but different case, top and bottom half screws in, not the standard two sides together
• screws good
• limited color choices
• finish ok
• button rounded

Tier 4 - Hong Kong Clone #3

• logos mimicked ok
• no case/accessories
• ok fitment
• ok screws
• all color choices
• finish ok
• button straight up a square

Tier 5 - Replica Style, no Logos HK Import

I have no proof it is authentic. It could be a clone because the carbon fiber backing was included inside the package. As far as I know, authentic backing thingies are shipped separately.

Logo, screws, and fitment suggest genuine article.

Squared button, rougher machining*, finish**, and packaging suggest clone.


*I compared the machining to a blood red genuine article (as claimed by owner) and it's the same. But a review of another authentic piece, the machining looked much smoother so pretty sure that owner has a clone too.

**Anodized finish is presumably not as shiny, but the "authentic" blood red (or so the owner claimed) was same finish as mine. I think there are just too many clones on the market and that blood red owner has been duped.

I paid $50, so I feel $40 is a fair price.

There is no paint chipping?
