Cobb Stage 1 Aggressive boost

I was out pushing some launches yesterday and I noticed that one of my runs indicated a peak PSI of 18.6.
Is this normal?

You may peak at that for a very short time (especially on throttle lift off) but you're sustained boost is probably closer to 16 psi before tapering down on Stage Aggressive + FMIC map.

Not too bad for an OTS, right?

Honestly, I've been impressed with the OTS maps. I can only imagine what a protune would be like.

Do they get you more power or just smoother delivery?

More low end response: meaning quicker to hit boost
&
Higher peak boost

It's hard to quantify "smoother"; as this depends greatly upon the upon the driver's driving habits not changing from map to map. With the increases across the power band, most would tend to get a bit more aggressive. For me (even with the OTS) the pull off from a full stop no longer induces that (sometimes) jerky throttle response, with my maps from PTF.

I've seen peaks on mine around 21 psi, probably from throttle closures. like said before, most likely averages somewhere around 16-17 psi.

^ This - take a log, more than likely it is a throttle closure.

Cool. That makes sense.
I will get a log and have a look.

I've been very pleased with the stage 1 aggressive OTS map.

When people complain of the OTS maps, is a pro tune really that much better?

YES.

I am in the workings of fine tuning my pro tune from PTF, and it is night and day different from the OTS maps. Even the guys at COBB will tell you that a pro tune will out-perform their OTS maps.

IMO, it is by far the best gain/cost mod you can do on these cars. On top of that, they can help you with a tune to run an E85 blend, which a lot of guys say is like a 30-40 HP gain alone. I haven't had it done yet, but it is the next thing I will do once this tune is finalized.

Very compelling.
What types of hp/tq gains are seen with N55 stage 1 pro tunes?

There was a thread started on this a while back, not sure how many people replied with relevant info though. Apparently, not many of us N55 guys get to the dyno very often. It's even harder for me considering that I am an xDrive...

Yea I've seen that and seem to have the same findings as you. No available conclusive answers.
