Correct tyres for 162s

Just noticed something.....

Ive got 162 rims on my 320D E90,the tyres that are on them are 235/40/ZR18s. I bought the car second hand and its 6 months old and has done 15k approx.
Strange thing is, the data plate for the tyre pressures in the door frame does not list these tyres, does that mean that the tyres are not correct for these wheels ? Anyone else got similar tyres to mine ?

Maybe they are not the original set on there, but its only done 15k, could that be possible ?

Also, Blacklines over here are 217 euros from the stealer, does anyone know where to get them cheaper ?

Cheers

Andy

Andy,

I've got 162's on mine which I've had on the car since new. The tyres are 225's on the front and 255's on the rear. This is the stock set up when you take delivery.

Some people have upgraded the tyres to 235's on the front and 265's on the rear. You should be ok with 235's all round but this is not the stock set up.

So perhaps the previous owner put "front" 162s all round with the wider tyres on.

Thanks bf, I think the place i got it from must have put the cheaper Yokohamas on as they look pretty new, what do you recommend Michelin,Continental ?
Ive noticed a slight judder/wobble when I get to about 120kph so i got the balancng checked today but it hasnt made much difference. There is no vibration through the steering wheel, its like when you have a window open in the back and you get that buffering noise, maybe i am not describing it well but it is difficult to explain. I will have to wait until the next service and ask them to check it out.

Cheers

Andy, I've got Michelins on mine and they are probably the best tyres I've ever had. Highly recommend them.

Are you coming to the meet at Santa Pod next Saturday?
