Seems like E90 x-drives w/sport pack and m-sport got the oil coolers for some reason while E92s didn't. |

Guys, why are you worring???
Did somebody had thermal problems like the N54 drivers? Did somebody had consistently high (250+ F) temps? So don't go bananas Last edited by BMW_Belgier; 07-03-2012 at 06:18 AM.. |

Umm... Yes. Heck, mine runs about 250F under normal conditions in 50-60F temps.

Oil cooler is basically extending the engine's life so if BMW does that, they are full of shit They're the ones who didn't provide us with oil cooler in the first place. Last edited by henry418; 07-05-2012 at 12:01 PM.. |

They want oil coolers so they can do track days without going into limp mode after 2-3 laps. |

Since it uses BMW parts for the retrofit it must look identical to a stock factory oil cooler if you were to just open the hood eh? (Where it attaches to the oil filter housing and the thermostat)

ER Sport Oil Cooler Installed
Just had the ER Sport oil cooler installed today. Looks like it works Usually, even on street, I was close to 130 degrees Celcius. With the ER Sport oil cooler installed, it doesn't go past 120 degrees regardless of what I do (was trying to purposely heat up the oil by keeping engine at high rpm and using low gears).
The real test will be at the track. Next track day for me is either August 15th or August 23rd. I'll keep you guys posted. Note: I didn't buy the aluminum shroud kit. |
