80-90 lb/ft is what I prefer.

That's 88.5 ft-lbs for those of us not on the metric system.

Also, note the OEM jack comes with a torque wrench set at 130Nm (around 95 ft-lbs), so I'm guessing you could go up that high. I stick with 88.5.

I use 88.5 ft-lbs / 120Nm and have never had a bolt come loose or had a problem getting one off later.

...and I believe BMW recommends re-torqueing after a few miles to make sure everything's ship-shape. I usually mount wheels, drive to the gas station to adjust pressures, then check the torques when I get back.

Don't take this the wrong way, but this has been covered a dozen or more times. The button works well in this regard....

Cheers

130 is only 8% over 120 so it shouldn't really matter. Just make sure you don't let garage monkeys bang the lugs on with an impact wrench. Sometime they torques them down to as high as 200. They just won't bother adjusting their tools or they simply don't care. Also double check your tire pressure yourselves if you ever let them mount or inflat your tires.

That's a must.....I've done my own tire rotations on my other car for 10 years. Whenever aluminum rims are remounted on the car, the lug nuts are always loosened after the first few miles. After retightening, they will stay at the right specs...

Interesting. I called BMW service the other day when putting my winter tires on, and they told me 90 Nm not ft-lbs.

90 Nm = 66 ft pounds. I run mine at 80 ft pounds which = 108 Newton Metres
