Is there any way to make Comfort Access more sensitive?

Ever since tinting my windows, my Comfort Access has gone to crap. Opening doors used to be 95% perfect. Now it's like 25%.

dude i feel your pain. My CA is crap after the tints. But the benefits of tints outweigh the inconvenience they cause. For now.....

Really? Is it because you used a metallic film (if you did that is)?

I don't think so...think it's just standard tint, darkest legal.

CA works fairly well... as mentioned your tint is not ceramic. the metallic tint acts like a shield which reduces RF communications from CA fobs or cell phones.

your fix is replacing the tint.

This may be true, but your cars appearance has increased by 100%. So it's worth it!

Recently got tinted (my first experience), no issues with CA, radio or cell.
As mentioned already, ceramic is the way to go! Try calling up your tint shop and discussing a swap with minimal out of pocket?

Why do you need tint on a convertible anyways, that bad boy should be open and you should have sun glasses.

Ha! I always went with that thought and put it off for 1.5 years. The Texas heat this year got the best of me and I just took the plunge. Huge difference.

My iphone kills the reception on the fob if they are in the same pocket.

Ive noticed this as well. I have also noticed me and my wife both have the same non-metallic tint on our cars. Her CA works a good bit better than mine. Mine decreased after tint, Hers did not. The only diffrence is her tint is 35% vs mine is 10%.

The Comfort Access on my 2012 335is is very inconsistent on the driver side only. It works perhaps 20% of the time. Autobahn BMW in Fort Worth where I purchased the car installed 35% tint on the sides, 20% tint on the back two weeks after I took delivery of the car. It was Llumar ATR Series, which is a metallic tint. However, I've read reports of ceramic tint also causing reduction in Comfort Access performance. And, there are many with metallic tint who have no Comfort Access problems. I'd escalated to BMW North America, and they have been working with me and BMW Dallas to remedy. Driver side door handle was replaced, but that didn't help. Next thing we are going to try is to remove the tint on the window above the driver's side door.

+1 on ceramic tint. Metallic tint will also mess with nav and cell reception. All high technology laden cars should use crf tint to minimize (cannot completely eliminate) wave form transmission interference. I have clear ceramic as I track and night drive but needed extra UV protection for my pale Irish skin.
