Hi all,
Found this forum a while back, but after briefly meeting another member while at Le Mans it has prompted me to search out this forum again and introduce myself properly. Moved over from the Dark Side (Audi) after I purchased a 6 month old 320d coupe M Sport last June. Absolutely love the car, especially having just had it remapped Hopefully I will be able to contribute to what is a great forum full of people who seem to want to genuinely help others (makes a change in this world). Hi all, newbie here.
This is the first forum that I have ever joined. Have been following this forum since I bought my car back in November and been impressed with the level of enthusiasm and helpfulness by everyone. So far I have been impressed with the BMW. Well put together, goes well (a remap will make it a lot better), the handling is very good miles better than the last rwd car I owned (Ford Capri, I was a teenager in the 80’s after all). Yes the ride can be a bit firm but no where near as harsh as my last car which was a remapped mkV Golf GTTDi running on 17’s with Eibach springs, dampers and roll bars. No complaints with the dealer so far (Sytner Sutton Coldfield) but it has only been in for 1 service so far. Will post some pictures next time I wash it. |

It's here!
Collected my new ride yesterday a week early and it's amazing. The spec is 330d LCI Msport touring, Auto, Bluewater,Alu trim, Pro Nav, privacy glass, Black dakota leather,DAB, heated seats.
I'll try and get some piccies up soon and a fuller review. Very early days obviously but, All I'll say today it's perfection for me, so much better than my previous car (A5 2.7tdi sport), much quicker, sharper more comfortable etc etc.. The two things I was worried about were Bluewater, which in the flesh looks great with the privacy glass and black interior and weirdly changes tone in different light conditions. The other was the ride comfort as I'd heard so many bad reports of the harshness of the run flats...Ignore them..on this model anyway. The ride and grip is staggeringly good, how they get the handling and comfort trade off so spot on is a miracle. This post doesn't come direct from BMW PR dept..but this car is so well engineered, it's a league better than Audi, and I've had em all. Photos to follow, when it's stops raining.. Dickie |

Hey there, lurked for a little while so thought it was time to join.
Picked up my titanium silver 320i M-Sport 2 weeks ago, an Aug-08 car so just missed out on a 58 plate. Auto with leather interior and loving it. Previous car was a 116i M-Sport which was a very nimble car but after 4 months the nagging thought of it being too small for practical use got to me and it was time to change again, and just in time for a trip down to Silverstone for F1 Just changed the Bridgestone RFTs as they were incredibly noisy, not like the ones on the 116. Stuck on some Vredestein Sessantas and what was a great ride is now fantastic. I will try and get some pics up once I've read all the forum rules and also cleaned her again. |

Ok, I promised some pics and here they are.
This is after she's been clayed, then a layer of Megs NXT and a layer of Collinite 476S. Wheels treated with Chemical Guys paste and Zaino Perfect Tire, and the interior leather cleaned/conditioned with Gliptone. |

Hi Everyone
Just thought I'd say hi Newbie here, just picked up my new car this weekend and been getting some helpful info from the site. Its a 2009 E90 325d MSport Step in Alpine White. iDrive Nav etc. It also has a bunch of BMW Performance bits that the dealer stuck on; wheels, front and rear bumpers, side skirts, rear spoiler. It was a demo before I bought it (although they only had it for 3 weeks). Loving the car so far, keep finding new things that impress me. First BMW I've owned (been a VAG man until now) but hopefully won't be the last. Only complaint is that the sat Nav is a bit sh*t, hoping that I could make my trusty TomTom redundant but unfortunately the BMW nav just isn't up to the job for me. Apart from that, its perfect Couple of pics below. Its a bit of a marmite car, love it or hate it? Let me know, I can take it |

Hello! 335d content.....
Hi Everyone,
Thought I'd introduce myself in the right place. Yesterday I traded this in: for this: Its a December 2006 335d M Sport Saloon with the following options: Titanium Silver Black Dakota Leather Navigation System Professional Bluetooth Phone Prep + telematics Voice Control Xenon Headlights I also managed to get the Ipod retrofit kit included in the deal and fitted as part of the car prep. Its an AUC from my local dealer, although it was a huge co-incidence they had this car as I have been looking nationwide. I'm going to miss the Elise but had to swap as it was getting too impractical with a 7 month old kid! 335d seemed to be the best car to offer refined cruising and baby kit lugging whilst allowing me to re-kindle some of the Elise drives when I'm out on my own. Already love the 335d for its split personality. Saloon was the "compromise" with the wife, otherwise it would have been an E92... Next step is to fit the Alpine upgrade kit which is on order.... I'm sure I'll be in and out the main and Technical forums over the coming months. Rich More pics: Last edited by richd; 07-05-2009 at 04:37 AM.. Reason: Removed dupe pics |
