allow myself to introduce myself
hello i am new to bmw and obviously these forums. i am located in Ottawa.
here is my little story. short(ish) version I have always respected the brand for many reasons but never really thought i would own one myself due to cost. i have never paid more than $1100 for a car, always just bought something i could keep on the road a few years. i knew that this spring i would need to replace my ride so had my eyes open for another beater when i just happened to come across what is now my baby. after stumbling upon the car i spent two weeks researching the (used) dealer and checking the net for anything i could find about the car, everything seemed good, the dealer is a block from my workplace, blue is my fav colour and the car is a beautiful blue color, the price was a great deal and i LOVE wagons, also the summer rims it came with are totally my style. i could not find a reason not to but it, and trust me i looked.... so it has been about six months and i love this car. hope to meet some forum members or local guys who can help me learn more about it and how to really take care of it right. i have always enjoyed working on my own cars and am looking forward to spending some time/money on personalizing my car instead of just keeping it on the road. that's enough for now i guess. short skinny version.... i bought a '07 e91 328xi 6 months ago and i love it. |

at work so cant post pics. will post the only one I have on my comuter when I get home this aft.
been lucky I guess. had some friends/family in the car industry so there is always a p.o.s. around for someone who wants it. my last car was a '97 Saturn four door I paid $1000 for and drove it for 6+ years with about a grand a year in repairs the last couple years. |

Welcome to the forums, but honestly I hope you don't expect the same with this car! Anytime you can get out of a jam for under $1000 you are doing pretty good. Lets hope you are good with the wrenches and DIY guides!

lol, yeah not expecting anything like that, but at 35 and after 7 crap cars I wanted something I could be proud of. just plan on enjoying it for the next couple years, then maybe do some real work on it and/or go back to cheap American crap...lol

hahaha
a little more than that. not sure i should say, i am sure someone will tell me i paid too much.... $11,500 with 160,000km, has been very well mechanically maintained (saw the paperwork) and has the factory wheel for winter. closest thing i saw was pretty much the same options, one set of wheels, approx 13,000 less kms for $15,000 |

You should check that the belt tensioner and belt has been replaced as those tend to go at around 160k kms. Here is some info on that repair: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=627158 |
