Free software upgrade for wastegate rattle?

So I have the dreaded wastegate rattle, I dont even enjoy driving my car anymore I tried the jb4 fix but was unsuccessful, did some research and found out that BMW has a software update for roughly $300 (which might not work), does anyone know of anyother routes I can take? Any help is appreciated
