Car Going in for Service - Remove AP?

Hey all,

I'm taking my car in tomorrow morning for some warranty work - brakes. Should I remove my DCI and AP before I go in?

Thanks,

Depends on your relationship with your SA. I take my car in fully modded, but that's because I know my SA doesn't care. If you're unsure it's a ~20 minute job to remove everything to be safe.

If you cannot trust the garage, you should not consider using their service.

Just got an '06 325i to replace my E36 (1992 318i with 350K miles). The car is being passed to my son who intends to take it to 500K.

So far, I love this car!

Depends on the dealer.

One dealer close to me will void your warranty if they see so much as a non-oem screw somewhere.

The one I go to doesn't care about mods as long as you don't bring them up. They turn their heads the other way.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to just leave them on for now. I'm taking it in for squeaking brakes - a problem that seems common. It's driving me absolutely nuts...

They will typically do nothing.
The noisy brakes are caused by the wear ridge on the rotor.
Unless the rotor is out of spec. You can probably forget about any brake service.

Take the tune off just to be sure they don't make note of it. Worst case, it could impact future warranty work
