Poppy's on football shirts
Who the F&@k are FIFA to tell England not to wear a poppy on their shirt over the weekend.I hope the players ignore this stupid decision and wear one. It's not a political statement but a mark of respect for those who paid the highest price for freedom.

But what's the difference if the poppy is on the armband or the shirt.
The FA should man up and tell Blatter and Platini to fook right off with this. FIFA so corrupt it's untrue. |

It's ridiculous, I really can't see the problem of having the poppy on the shirt like it was on news tonight.
Maybe if the fa had given FIFA a brown envelope with some notes in they would have said yes The FA should tell FIFA to fuck right off! |

FIFA's argument was that if they let England wear something, then they have to let everyone else wear what they want.
To be honest - most people in Spain would have no clue about it at all and never noticed. By FIFA making a big deal out of it - its got a lot more press then it ever would have gotten normally

Ha! I know what you're saying, BUT, the referee would then abandon the game apparently.
Mind you at least we'd be spared the pain of a 5-0 defeat by Spain, so perhaps you're right! Really cannot see the point of these friendlies anyway, not with the tournament 8 months away. Mike. |

i would be honest and say that none of the players really care whether they have a poppy on the shirt or not........just another media driven debate.
its seems enough of a struggle to actually motivate themselves to perform in an England shirt, let alone whether it has a poppy on or not. |

I thought it was a regular poppy on a pin the same as us average joes can buy and the issue was more with letting a group of people with a collective IQ of about 20 near sharp objects.
