A good replica of this bag wouldn't look, feel or function any differently than the genuine bag costing 10 times that of the replica. It's the same with watches. A very good swiss made replica Rolex or Omega watch for example would provide the exact same function as a genuine watch again costing 10 times as much. I don't think paintings can really be including in what you say as the artist can often spend hundreds of hours creating a masterpiece which may very well be worth a huge amount of money. But take a Jackson Pollock piece for example, well, a three year old child could have created one of his pieces and the majority of people wouldn't even know the difference. But with cars and electrical items like ipods, thats totally different. A GTR may have the same performance on paper as a Porsche but it isn't built with the same level of quality components, the same can be said for electrical items. An ipod would no doubt perform better and be of better quality than a cheap mp3 player bought on ebay.

Being somewhat of a LV connoisseur myself, it's not just the production. Just like you buy a BMW for it's free maintenance, etc., LV offers [maybe?] free repairs for their authentic products -- provided it's not just wear and tear, and the stitching, etc. becomes undone.

You pay for the name. LV = Quality, just as BMW = quality... people have different tastes, but a replica lambo countach (which looks and perhaps even sounds like the real deal) will not make it real... People will always pay unprecedented amounts for prestige, and LV signifies prestige in every way.

Lastly, although Zuerst in a huge POS (only kidding ) for taking my money on, i think, 3 different occasions, he is a great guy to do business with, and if i were in the market for this bag, i would pick it up from him in a heartbeat.

For those who are looking for LV things, don't ever buy them... chances are in your favor that Zuerst will probably buy it on impulse and just for holding it in his hand, he'll give you a relatively good deal on his products.
