chargepipe fitment

Switching from Riss Racing charge pipe (with dual diverter) to ER charge pipe with elbow (without bung), got some major installation issue on 2008 335i e92:

1. See pic 1- comparison

RR charge pipe's dual diverter location is different from ER charge pipe (OEM diverter fitment).

2. Once i started install the ER charge pipe, i realized my RR dual diverter won't fit. It fitted the ER charge on the throttle body, tried to plug in my RR diverter, and found out it won't have enough space to fit it. see pic 2.

3. i guess both of the diverter have nsufficient space to fit, see pic 3

therefore, have i not install the ER CP correctly, or the RR DD just won't fit?
Please help.

The CP in the pics is not close to even being on the throttle body, needs pushed on another 1- 1-1/2"...where the silver meets the machined surface....it takes some force. see pic below (your pic LOL!!)

I was gonna say the same thing. Look at the bracket too, not even close to matching up

I've got the ER CP and Forge DVs (similar size to your RR DVs) and the install was a bit of a hassle because of the ER's DV ports. Installed the CP first & have it 100% lined up. Then take time routing the DV hoses, specifically the rear. I'd recommend running it on the outside of the cables (basically closer to the driver wheel well). It'll line the DVs up better & the hose will have less bends.

Might wanna try swapping the silicone hoses. The curved hose might work better on rear dv and straight hose might work better on front dv. I have Injen dci with stock dv's and was having trouble with fitment and Mike told me to swap hoses. I did and with a little forceful action I got it on.

i have tried to lined up properly, and the cp went all the way in.... however, seems like both dv will be blocked by car frame and tank tank reservoir. i really i though i probably have to give up one of my dv to fit.

will it definitely fit? what else can i do?

Here's my Forge DV + ER CP setup

The rear hose is now routed on the other side of the cables (closer to the frame/wheel well). It looks like you might have the bent tube on upside, which could be creating the install problems.

The 07-08 uses your stock factory rubber elbow.

The 09 Long version fits all years and gets rid of the stock rubber elbow.

There are two versions of the charge pipe, long and short.

When BMW made the LCI mid 2009 they changed the stock charge pipe from the short one with rubber elbow to a longer one with solid elbow.

The long one with solid elbow can be used on all cars and is the preferable one to use as it gets rid of the crappy elbow and allows for meth bungs to be placed on the elbow part, which is the preferable location.

Now I know.... dont understand why pre 09 users are offered the short version at all.
I took the short version in fear of fitment issues. Now I feel like a fool sitting with the short one , its not like I could ship it easily back to the states either... crap crap crap....

ER made a custom piece that runs from short chargepipe to FMIC , seems like next on my list... anyone know the cost of this piece?
