Cobb AP Installed

Installed the AP this AM before I left for work. Install went smooth. Followed the directions, no problems. Total install took about 20 min's.
I am all stock. I'm using the Stage I sport .

Initial impressions - definitely a lot more punch in the mid range. I only gave it 1 WOT for a brief moment. Does the ECU need to "learn" the Cobb tune or is it good to go right from the start?

All in all I like it.

It's a flash tune. It does not need adaptation. Drive and enjoy.

Install Stage 1 aggressive, that will put a smile on your face... Make sure to fill it with 93 octane first.

I bet. I have 91 octane and 100 Sunoco unleaded. 93 octane unfortunately is not available in Cali. On a near empty tank, which one do I fill first, 91 or 100? Or does it not matter? It all gets mixed inside the tank evenly?

doesn't matter but drive for 10mins on mild throttle to make sure the homogeneous mix got to the engine when you floor it

What are the two or three main parameters I should be logging? There's quite a few inside the AP.

I watched the tutorial on Cobb's site. Basically I just have to hit the 'okay' button for each parameter I select and then make 1 or 2 WOT runs?

the default logging parameters are good! if you didn't buy the unit new and think the list was altered, just reset data log list.

and log

I thought you needed the necessary components before using that? Or you can use it stock with 93?

It's stage 1. Maybe a drop in or DCI is suggested but not required. And 93 of course, or ACN 91 mixed with 3 gallons of E85 pump.

I run aggressive every day with 91 and 3 gallons of e85 mixed in. It runs well.

California's lack of 93 is seriously frustrating. I wouldn't mind mixing a little 100 if there were more than two stations in central LA that weren't both in Santa Monica and didn't charge $9.99 a gallon! I had to mix 50/50 with my M6 for almost a year before I finally got the right tune installed. That's an expensive fill up on the other side of town!

Now California's crap gas will limit my options with the Cobb AP my friend just picked up for me yesterday at Cobb's HQ in Austin. Once again, I may be crossing town to get 100 so I can drive much too aggressively on hot days! Curse you California! Give us 93!

Did some more driving today. The temp needle definitely gets closer to the 250 mark when driving aggressively vs stock. It was 77 degrees today, little hotter than it's normally been. I can feel the car slowing down a little bit the hotter it gets. FMIC has to come soon. Then I can run Stage 1+. But yeah it really is a different car even in Stage 1 sport. Having what I have now I'd go crazy having to drive the car stock. The AP turns this 335i into a stealth sleeper on the street.

I hear you on that. Luckily the closest unocal 76 to me is the one that carries the 100 sunoco. I don't care as much at the $9.99p/gallon as I do having to time my fill-ups around that one particular gas station lol. That's what's nice about the AP, can switch back to sport mode in minutes.
