With all the non-essential modules removed, does the ECU give you any issues or does it work fine with all the faults?
I thought the the 3.0si from the e85/86 looked the same...

No need to have to gut your car and put in expensive race parts to take your car on track. If you're worried about any incidents, get HPDE insurance.

You are correct on both fronts.

It is out of a e85. It only had 18K miles on it, so I could not pass it up. The S52 motors I was looking at all had over 100K on them.

I highly recommend tracking your car; no matter what you have. If you are apprehensive then just rent a car.

Seat time on a track is by far the BEST mod you can do. The average driver is usually the weak link.

Adapted an Auto Solutions SSK for this E90 application. I will need to buy/make a tall shifter so it can more race friendly. The shifts are really short.

Oh I track my car all the time. I just wanted a dedicated platform since I have 184k mi on mine. The chassis is fine but the engine is getting tired. Maybe it just needs a head rebuild. The 328 and later model high output N52 have the plastic valve cover and MSV71 ECU. 325/330 or any older N52 has the magnesium valve cover and MSV70 ECU. The MAFs are different too. I think the later model N52s use a digital one vs an analog one.

Took the roof off the car since it had some damage from a transporter incedent. We will be adding an additional cross bar to the cage while the roof is off. The car is essentially painted...

Any updates? This is the same car? Will it be ready for the race at Sonoma this coming weekend?

Yes, that is the car. We have made further progress and our goal was to race it at the WTCC race in Sonoma, but had issues with the ECU/immobilizer.

Our next goal is to take this car to the SEMA show, but she will make the 2013 season.

Thanks to UTI of Sacramento for the facilities and the paint job. I wish I had their facilities and tools.

Custom Magnaflow headers and exhaust. Notice the v-band; it is set up for a secondary muffler to use at Laguna Seca to pass sound restrictions.

NASCAR style door bars added. We also added some jack pads on each side of the car coming off the roll cage.

APR rear wing. We will also be adding their splitter as well. Have not installed it yet though.

The wing is MASSIVE.

Notice how much higher the new APR rear wing is compared to the old one on the E36. Custom made to my specs.

Custom brake ducts. This allows me to take the front bumper on and off without having to take the brake cooling hoses off.

I was under the assumption that these were both the same brakes?

The 135 calipers are 6 piston. Changed to O ring to Stop Tech as well.

I will do my best to take some header photos. Not much room in the engine bay.

I will post video's of next season's action for sure.

The customer APR splitter arrived.

Easy enough of a mount job. I like the results. Feels very sturdy.

That looks great. Where can those wires holding the splitter be bought and how come you have another piece that looks like a lip wedged in between.
