how do I know what ship my car is on?
My car is at the bremerhaven port waiting to be loaded and shipped to south carolina. I have found several web sites that can track the ship but how do I find out what ship my car is on?
thanks |

if it is on a ww ship, you can enter your VIN on their site:
http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/index.jsp select cargo tracking/auto however, there is a delay (in my case, the VIN showed up 2 days after departure) if it's on another company, I don't know

If it is on WW, you can use the VIN link above. Otherwise, check with your dealer. K-Line also brings cars to the East Coast, and has at least one ship on its way to South Carolina, but K-Line doesn't have a feature where you can input your VIN to see if the car is on the boat.

Jay, give the 800 BMW number a call and talk with a rep, they have up to the minute info. Unfortunately, they can only give you info to when it boards a ship. When you get that info from the BMW rep, give your sales guy a call and he will know which ship it is on. Or you can probably figure out which ship left around the same time bound for your port. (Obviously, it is much easier to call your sales guy tho, just to be sure)
As far as tracking your ship, I found lots of good info in the Indepence II thread here in this forum. There are a couple of stickies here too with really good info. I would tell you how to do it, but your going to need something to do for the next few weeks, and I would be depriving you of the "full experience" of tracking your car. I have one piece of advice though. As soon as you find out which ship and the port docking date, start a thread. People will find you. It's kind of like the "Build it and they will come" theory. It is actually a fun experience. Good Luck and remember to breathe! Leslie
