+40 and +45 offset on E90 sedan??
I have an 08 335i sedan with sport package and am shopping for some cheap rims I can thrash around town and on the track. CSL's look pretty sweet in Matte black. Tirerack and a few other online sites seem to think that running a +40 front/ +45 rear offset will work well. I know the stock offsets are +34 front/ +37 rear.
My question is will this change throw off the dynamics of the car? Will it destroy DTC as my dealer claims? |

I'll just hijack this thread.
What ET is ideal for the front wheels without rubbing but at the same time getting them as flush as possbile with the fender? The rim is 8x18.

OK, sure, you're tucking the wheels in closer. You're dealers an idiot telling you it'll mess with DTC. It never ceases to amaze my what kind of bullshit they'll spew to get you to buy from them.
By tucking the wheels in closer, you are narowing the track which will raise the effective moment arm of the center of gravity over the wheels, making the car easier to tip. There, that's the difference. I'm laughing because you'd need MATLAB to calculate the difference. If you don't have degree in Engineering or Applied Mechanics or something, you'll never be able to even calcualte the difference. And there's no way in hell you'll feel any difference. Don't worry about it.
