I have some rubbing at more than 70% turning angle because I have a BMW Power Kit radiator plastic backing plate plate that is protruding out from the fender well a bit, but I will re-install the plate on the inside of the fender well and there will be no rubbing. Aside from this, there is no rubbing whatsoever.

However, I used 245 to offset the 285 in the rear somewhat. There is no need to go with 245 in front if you don't track the car or if you use 255/265 tires in the rear. 235 is an "easier" alternative. But I do think that 245 helps handling in hard driving if you are into this kind of thing.

okay. im stuck with runflats so my options are limited. thats why I asked cause its either 225 or 240 or 245. i just think the 225's will ook too small on the wheel.

225 is what BMW uses from factory, on 8" wide wheels. What is the width of the wheel that you are using ?

I actually have 225/45/17 RFT tires on my 17x8.5" M-Sport 194M winter wheels and they do not look very good. They look a bit too stretched.

245/35/18 instead of 245/40/18 (like I have) would be another variant for lower diameter wheel but non-stretched look. If you can find RFTs in this dimension I would say it's a perfect combo with the 18x8.5 wheel.

Yea I wish i could get the 245/35 but no runflat makes it in that size. I hear different views about the 225 on 18x8.5, just not sure what to do. **********s said its a tad small but will perform fine. i just wanna know what "tad" small means. i would really dislike it if it looked too stretched. but on the other hand I dont want too much tire. so you see whay im standing??

The 225/40/18 will fit on the 18x8.5, however, it is a slight stretch. We do recommend a 235/40/18 for the 18x8.5 width as that is the proper size.

I totally understand, my 245/40/18 is a compromise too (I wanted to somewhat balance the rear's 285), 235 is a very good choice like **********s recommends. I had 235 on my previous 18x8.5 VMR VB3 and they do look perfect. Maybe you should rethink the RFT stuff...I made the switch some time ago and I have never looked back. I keep a Continental ContiComfortKit in the trunk and that's it.

However keep in mind that 245/40/18 is what the e9x M3 uses from factory on the 260M wheels. And it looks pretty good by my standards. I really like that muscular look and I was trying to somewhat reproduce it on my car.

When you say slight stretch what do you mean? Will I have no rim protecting form the tire?

Looks good man. I just bought a set of 18x8.5 as well for my e92. I apologize for my ignorance, but does the e92 have more clearance for wider tires than the e90? I remember reading it somewhere but want to confirm it was more clearance and not less, I also believe it was only front or rear, whereas the alternate was the same clearance.

btw i was planning a 255/35/18 square setup for track, but am now debating picking up some 9.5 rears instead and doing 275/35 rear....

On the e92 there is certainly less clearance in the rear, not sure about the front.

Looks damn good well done!

Does the car feel very planted now?

I'm thinking of going 245/35 up front on my oem performance wheels. I dont have the PPK. Do you think i will rub anyway?

Im using toyo proxes T1-R, which are really narrow and upgrading to 275 on the rear wheels next week.

You mean 245/35/19 ? It will not rub, since the diameter is identical to the 245/40/18. If you are planning 245/35/18 of course there will be no rubbing.

As for the "planted" feeling, the suspension has to do with this more than the wheels but what I can say is that I am very surprised by the levels of grip of the Continental DWS. With the Nitto 555R in the back there is a high level of grip but there is still wheel spin if you floor it in 2nd gear.
