BMW Media snap-in cradle on non-iDrive car. Music streaming from phone?
Hi All,
I've got the BMW Media cradle for my iPhone 5S, and in a car equipped with nav, I'd be able to play the music I have on the phone via the iDrive. This would be done by choosing the "External Devices" option. Now my car doesn't have Nav, but I still would like to play/stream the tunes, rather than having my iPod USB'd in all the time. Is there any way I can do this? I have the Professional head unit with built in Bluetooth, but would I need a combox or equivalent? Just asking in case anyone has done this before and can point me in the right direction. Thanks Matt |

The media cradle will not work for you. You need the standard Music cradle if you have the cradle holder in the arm rest.

The media cradle is useless. Combox also does not work in non-I drive cars but you can get Bluetooth audio and retain stereo/steering wheel control with the viseoo tune2air. I got one a few weeks ago and it's worked great so far. They sell on Amazon for around $80

I picked mine up on eBay for my iPhone 4s for under $50 US.
