jb3 is pretty old. you should have got jb4 at least. jb3 had issues with overboost/underboost codes depending on weather.
Also with your mods i would run map 3. Search , tons of threads about jb3 if you are wondering something.

you need to upgrade to the JB4 (as enrita stated) as I don't believe BMS is even supporting (firmware and such) the JB3 any longer.
The JB4 is much more advanced than the JB3...night and day.

i already told you, map 3. Get an intercooler and run map 5, get also downpipes and run map 7 . Try running always 93 octane since stock ignition is quite aggressive for the boost you will get.

As soon as you are able, get up to date with JB4 (same tuner, current version of product) so that you can play with different mixes of premium and e85 for even more power. Have fun, welcome to the addictive world of boost. Never is ever enough, all it takes is trying it once |

I did the same thing....so I understand the budget thing. I can't even remember what maps I ran on JB3 if you can scrape together $150 its worth the upgrade.

found this in the user manual pdf on their site.
Map 0: --Disables JB3, all signals pass through Map 1: --Low boost map, boost levels of 11-13psi depending on mods and weather --Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc --91 octane RM2 or higher required. The higher the octane, the more power. Map 2: --Performance map, boost levels of 12-14psi depending on mods and weather --Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc --91 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power. Map 3: --Identical to map 2 with additional low end response (aka lagfix) Map 4: --Hotter Performance map, boost levels of 13-15psi depending on mods and weather -- Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc --93 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power. Map 5: --Identical to map 4 with additional low end response (aka lagfix) Map 6: --Designed to optimize bolt on performance --93 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power. --Richer midrange air/fuel ratios to sustain additional torque -- May trigger hidden tuner detection codes. Purchase a Bavarian Technic cable from BMS to scan for and delete any hidden codes before service. Map 7: --Identical to map 6 with additional low end response (aka lagfix) get a jb4 already. I also have 15 ohm Jb4 black box only for sale |

JB3 worked great, until you ran into higher boost levels on a 6MT then you bogged during upshifts. Admittedly, Procede was a little better for this issue, but it still happened, just not to the extent of the JB3.

The JB3 is very obsolete and no longer compatible with BMWs newer software updates. Which means you'll get check engine lights and other headaches. If you can't afford to upgrade to a JB4 I would probably leave it on the garage desk until you can.

tofu and rotorocious i have the pin out version and doubt the jb4 box will work with that harness. everyone thanks for your help. also here in BFE where i live there is no access to 93 octane or e85. ran the car on map 5 for 2 days and no problems but sounds like i better put it on 3. thanks again everyone.
