Apart from making sure the sway bar is not preload, is there any other thing I need to pay attention to?

Steps
disconnect the original end link while the car is on jack stands;
Install the top part of the adjustable end link;
leave the lower part of the end link loose;
put the car on ramp;
adjust the end link length and to connect the sway bar (how to tell if the sway bar is "ground" but not preload as the others said though?)

am I correct?

Put car on ramp is the second last step?
Does this mean u need to drive it before the parts are reconnected??
