Their FB page claims 390hp (assumed at the fly) which is a decent hit more than the 265hp of the N52B30 in the 130i; approx 100whp as ESS originally predicted. I'd be interested in seeing what the unreleased AA kit could produce as developed, then with a FMIC and their headers. @Andrew@ActiveAutowerke |

I think the ESS kit or parts from it like VF turbine is the one we see in the article, just refined.
The tuner shop was using a e46 ess donor kit to make n52 version and was talkgin to others to sell their design since they focus on vauxhall/Opel/GM

Unlike the M30 or M50s, I am not sure if there are enough N52s out there to justify developing an expensive, complex turbo kit. The N52 was only produced for like 7 years. Meanwhile, the M30 was around for 30+ and the M50 for 15+.
Likewise, if you are willing to invest more than 5 grand in an N52 to turbo it, why on earth would you not simply buy an N54/5 powered car? They are not that much more expensive. If you’re a hard-core E91 guy, why would you turbo an N52 when you could simply swap to an N54? In any event, I would like to see more aftermarket, performance parts for the N52 that further enhance the engine’s factory charms (e.g. free-revving, linear power—traditional BMW!). For example: Camshaft, intake manifold (does not need to be multi-stage—sell one optimized for mid-range and one for top-end), fuel injectors, better ignition parts, more headers, as well as heavy duty (i.e. longer-lasting) water pumps, flywheels, etc. A decade ago, Schrick produced these types of high-end components for the M30 and M50. So far, no such love for the N52. |

roundle - ESS has made the kit. For those outside of the US/EU it is often better value for money to modify (or annoying people like me rather mod my hatch rather than buy an M3; as I don't want to own two cars again).
So back to the topic at hand- the previously created kit (which has mostly disappeared from the internet), drawing comparison to the ESS kit which has been seeded to the first buyers and what AA may have offered... |

Regal is pretty reputable here in the UK but lord knows what is happening with them. I contacted them last year for the s/c kit and they told me they were not currently offering it. No further explanation. May be the legal side with VF is still going on who knows?
