blown truck tire VS my 335i

firefox crashed the first time i wrote this, so here's the short version.

60-E, just before 71-S (i work in chino). POS car in front of me (5-10 car lengths... i was a little close) runs over a blown-up truck tire at full speed (~70mph). enter max-payne-slo-mo. tire becomes projectile, hits my bumper, slides across hood, smashes window. i only know this by looking at the damage. i blinked as it hit, and then it was all over.

now i get to play a new game... its called "dealing with insurance company".

pic 1, headlight & hood. cant see it but theres a spiderweb crack where initial impact was:

pic 2, hood & windshield wiper. scratch on hood is also a dent:

pic 3, cracked windshield. hit lower passenger side, instantly cracked all the way down the middle to the driver side:

i'm not even angry, just really REALLY depressed.
deductible is $1000 from my insurance. i'm gonna try to get a new hood, headlight, windshield, windshield wiper, and a "paint fix" (aka full detail). probably won't get it, but may as well try.

i suppose it could have been a lot worse, so for that i'm thankful. just another daily hassle for the next month... my baby is only 3 months old =(

Sorry to hear about this man.
I just watched this demonstation on mythbusters.
I know the depression you're going through right now.
Someone hit my car while parked 2 days ago and took off.
Now i need to pay out of pocket or pay my insurance deductible

Damn, that sucks.
Clear-bra would have saved the hood.

Try to make sure you claim it as a comprehensive claim, it won't jack up your premium.

Next to the 5, the 60 has so much crap on the freeway. I'd be pissed too.
