Automatic or use paddle shift when 'booting it' on Automatic/paddle shift GB's

So I've had the 335D for a wee while now getting used to the gearbox etc, if on a roll and I'm wanting to go for it, is it best to down shift and use the paddle by putting into SemiAuto, or just keep it in automatic mode and use the paddles those temporarily putting it in SA?

Cheers

Let the Alpina Flash do all the work, changes quicker than me

Depending on your position and time available:

If you are in/at the back of a queue, and are going to do a bit of queue-hopping, just put the box into Sport, wait for the gap and then floor it.

If you have a spur-of-the-moment urge to go, then flick the down paddle a couple of times (or more!)

Hooligan mode is Sport and use the paddles. This is also the mode I use when towing the caravan, as the straight Auto never seems to be in the gear that I want it to be in (I like to keep the revs over 2000 with the caravan on the back - I'm old fashioned like that!)

It may be in the head, (I can't spell psychological) but mine always seems to feel a lot more lively in Sport.

....Alpina Flash. Hmmmm. i or d??? I wonder if a dirty diesel will rev to 8k before changing up I'm not going to try that one.

Thanks for the link.It started off sounding interesting, but I don't know if its going to give any real benefits over a reset or if you have a jerky 'box!
If it develops,especially over here,I'd be interested.Subscribed!
