Rough Idle and harsh vibration

This past weekend I drove from NY to Maryland and the car ran great but I think I may have drove it too hard. Yesterday morning out of nowhere the service engine soon light came on and the car started to idle rough and vibrate harshly when accelerating.

I ran a fault code check on it and got code 0029D2 from BMWhat app

Car is a 2010 328i x Drive currently has 51k on it.

Rough Idle and harsh vibration (stuttering) when Accelerating

A friend of mine told me he had the same issue and it was his throttle body.
any ideas would be helpful

Looks you have a misfire my friend. Did this reset after the next startup or is the SES light still on?

Ok. Since your misfire is persistent then you can check to see if it's the coil that is causing the issue. Exchange the coil with another and if the code travels to that cylinder then it's a def that the coil is faulty. If that doesn't work then you move on to the plugs.

Had the same/similar issue and used the CarlyForBMW App (formerly BMW What App) to diagnose. I changed all 6 spark plugs and coils. Such an easy job and now my car runs perfectly. I have a 2006 e90 with 60k miles. A bit surprised this happened but was only a $200 fix, compared to triple that or more if I took it to the dealer.
