If were talking about the old one then yea i agree. But looking at the new G37 coupe and the new G35 sedan, i'd take the sedan ANYDAY. Plus its more convinient.
And the OP said sedan anyways |

You'll be hard pressed to find an IS250 for $30,000, at least here in SoCal. Just about every one I saw at the Lexus dealers had several packages on them. My gf bought one for $35,000 out the door though with the luxury package, x package, 18" wheels, and Navi.
The new G35 Sedan and TSX are good value buys IMO. |

i dont know the high/lows of your price range but if its not a bmw... i'd say... new C Class (is it out yet?), TL, TSX, IS250, Honda Accord (not exactly in the same playing field... but on the lower end), Toyota Camry (same as the Accord).

What's wrong with a base 328i?
And do you have to buy new? You could pick up a 1 or 2 year old 330i or 325i too. Otherwise...why not get the VW GTi? Women like the look of hatchbacks (it comes as a 4 door...and proportion wise the 4 dr hatch looks better than the 2 dr hatch). Good looking...has great pick up and go and reasonable pricing. If she doesn't drive manual...she can get DSG. Almost fully loaded...with navi...you're still under $30k. Good price. Then also get her some Audi B7 RS4 replica wheels from Velocity. Tint...then she's got an awesome car. His and her German vehicles. |

EVEN if you can get it for $32,000 Taxes alone (7.75%) is 34480 and then add license/registration it is well over $35,000. LT Luxury Package (incl 18" wheels, power rear sunshade, maple trim, heated/vent seats, HID, adaptive lights, etc) + NV + + Nav + Trunk Matt + Cargo Matt = $39,102 MSRP per Edmunds. Invoice is $33,908. Think you forgot 1. Tax (7.75% in my county, 8.25 in LA) 2. License/Registration is much more expensive in California. 3. You had no idea what options the car had. |

Car *I* would buy if I was limited to USD$30K = base model G35 sedan. Very impressive loadout standard and great price if you stay out of the options.
Car I would buy for my wife if limited to USD$30K = loaded Accord. You just can't go wrong with one of those. |

if 30k is your max, why try to stretch yourselves thin financially just for a car??? (especially if your soon to be newlyweds) If you dont have a house, save money up for that.
I agree with the honda accord as a second car. |
