ZCW Contents- Heated mirrors?
I understand ZCW to contain heated seats, headlamp washers and split rear seat with ski sack.
QUESTION: Are heated mirrors part of this as well or are they part of ZPP? I am asking because the folding rear seat doesn't appeal to me but the heated mirrors do. If I can get away with just ordering the heated seats, that would be great. Thx |

I've looked at the site..
....and came up with the same conclusion as you, but I am pretty sure I have read about heated mirrors somewhere on one of these forums (fora?) so I thought I'd send out a flyer and see if anyone knew more.

ANSWER: Heated mirrors are not part of the ZPP but they are one of the standard features of the 2008 3 Series.
As a matter of fact, all BMWs now have heated outside mirrors as a standard feature. In other words, you can't purchase a new BMW without that feature! Last edited by bobr2001; 12-27-2007 at 10:58 AM.. Reason: addt'l info |

Thanks guys - that is just the answer I wanted to hear. I am looking at an 07 leftover at a local dealer and wanted to be sure that it had the heated mirrors.
On a TOTALLY different topic: best number I have been able to negotiate is $400 over invoice. In terms of ordering an 08, I can't get any dealer near me to order a sedan for less than $2000 over invoice. Also, the money factor is less on the 07 so I am leaning toward the 07 I think. Thoughts? |

on page 57 of the 2007 brochure under "Exterior", standard on all models:
Heated dual power mirrors and heated windshield washer jets I believe you turn your defroster on and the heated mirrors kick in

It's for those of us who like to see out of our mirrors in colder weather. You see, when air temperatures drop, air loses the ability to hold as much water, depositing the water on convenient surfaces. When the temps drop below freezing, that same water freezes on those same convenient surfaces. I like to call this "frost".
BMW, in thier infinite wisdom, includes the ability on the car to heat up the glass on your rear-window getting rid of this "frost". Heating up the mirror accomplishes this same feat. Smart-assed answer? You bet. |

Actually I believe then automatically turn on when the outside temp drops below 70 or so.

$400 over invoice is good as long as it is brand new car. Not much difference between 07 and 08 anyway. What options on the 07? Make sure it has the oil cooler.

It is new (as in unregistered) but has 5K miles on it. It is well equipped: sport, premium, nav, 18" wheels (therefore with oil cooler), iPod, Comfort access, cold weather, metallic. Sticker is $49.5.
WHat I am finding is that the lease payment that they are offering (when you consider money factor, other fees and, obviously, sell price) is pretty unbeatable. $550 plus sales tax, drive off costs under $2K. |
