Women thinking they are great drivers..
Today I had to go get a hair cut, so I let my wife drive my Mazda3 so I can walk home, and when I came home I see the car parked in the middle of the driveway and not to the side like usual..Didn't think anything of it, but when i went inside she tells me she scratched the car....I go outside and its about a 16 inch line across the back quarter panel and up to the middle of the door, granted there was very little paint that came off, but there is a line across similar to a door ding but straight. She sideswiped the push bar on her SUV which is rubber so not if any paint came off...The sick part is that she always claims that she is a great driver and I drive too conservative, so I threw it in her face that a good driver doesn't only entail you weaving in and out of traffic, it also entails driving in close quarters meaning navigating and parking in small spots...All she could say is "sorry" which I can accept, but when I gave her a remark about how great she thinks her driving skills are, she comes back at me " I am a good driver!!"" Its not my 335, but its still a brand new Mazda3, which is iritating the shit out of me because I have OCD when it comes to my cars....Now its going to cost me about 700 hundred to fix...I don't even want to drive the car now till its fix....

She claims she is a great driver because she can weave in and out of traffic? LOL, that is not skill, that is "bravery."
She should pay for the repairs.

tell her you have no choice but to trade it in now and get another new one since she spoiled it. And if she needs to cut back on her clothes, shoes, and manicures to cover the losses then she will just have to suck it up.....then run like hell and hope she knows you are kidding

Her paying for it is like me paying for it anyway..I could handle scratches on the bumper and shit, but when it comes to dings and the scratch line that I have on the metal, it irks the shit out of me...Seeing the reflection on the car with that extra line to the body is killer for me....(PART OF THE OCD!!) I will goto my auto shop tommorrow and get a price for it...It just sucks because I wanted a spoiler and now its spend on stupidity...

OP, at least ask her to pay for 1/2 of it.....
This reminds me of a convo a co-worker and I had...he bought her a brand new Caravan to take the kids around in. Soon enough it had a big gash in the rear panel, scratches all over the place, currently has a mis-aligned bumper cause she ran into something, oh and the passenger head-light is pushed in too. lol She even reads magazines while driving. lol

For some married couple, they keep seperate bank account. Anything is possible in relationship these days. To OP, does it bother you even if there are dings/scratched on your wife's SUV? (just out of curiosity or only on the car you drive that bothers you). Yes, I hate dings on side of car but I am OK with rock chips.
