Have to add mine too..

330D E91 M-sport, sapphire black, and because I live in Finland, country where all men are racedrivers my bimmer is manual.

few mods: front splitters (ordered, but not arrived yet), BBS CH 19" wheels, M3 style cluster (white ambient with red needles), colored calibers, gold, taillight mod (quite unik, never seen same like).
and plans: replace aluminium interior trims to piano black trims, something small don't know what, yet

Hi guys, just to let you know that i will be remapping/dpf delete my 330d e90 2006.
Its a MORE-BHP remap, I've been looking around to find some dyno graphs but can't find them, so decided i will get mine dyno'd once its all done.

They do have a race map 305bhp but jason advised me to go for the stage 1 which is around 295bhp.

So lets see if i get anywhere near that!

He has referred me to VRT in Iver as they are resellers of MORE-BHP remaps.

Will get the dyno results next week - watch this space.

BTW does anyone know of rr/dyno place in middlesex area.

Hi guys
Just came across this thread.
I also have a 330dA, a E91. Great car.
Have got it remaped and dynoed to 265hp/600Nm.
A new IC is on the way from CapeTown, South Africa since they have made som conversions down there using an IC that fits OEM size.
After fitting the car will have another remap. Expect figures in the 280-290Hp area...

And have found a company in the UK that have a Hybrid turbo ready for it. Says they can get 350Hp out of it with a DPF removal and the Hybrid.
Considering ordering such a turbo..... :-)

Hi there

It was WELL worth it. I had it remapped and dynoed.
The dyno came out with almost the same numbers but the way the car pulls now from 70-80km/h and all the way to the top is much better that before.
I can recomend a bigger IC and a remap after that.
I have bought a DPF removal pipe to be fitted after christmas. And then another remap :-)

Hi everyone

New to the forum and BMW. I have just bought myself a 2008 330d saloon M-Sport, with I drive, navigation, professional system, sports leather seat in black. It is an auto and I am 23 years old, I have always wanted a BMW and this is my first. Bought from BMW in derby which has added benefits of a years warranty + roadside assistance. plus a free mot in April when its due.

The reason I went for such a big diesel engine is because I did have a mk4 golf GT TDI 130, which was remapped and had a full exhaust system. It went like a rocket I think, I figured if and when I changed my car it had to be as quick and rwd. The 330d and 335d fits the bill perfectly.

I work for mercedes-benz as a Technician, so will be servicing the car my self and getting it done when the computer tells me, I have never owned a bmw but drive rwd on a regular basis.

Can someone explain how the I drive works and what I can set? I had a play with it at BMW but nothing major. Also what is the LCI thing mean?

Cheers Dan

LCI refers to the mid cycle refresh, which I believe was the 2009 model year on the E90. IIRC, LCI is an acronym for Life Cycle Impulse, or something along those lines.

For the I drive, it would probably be best to post questions in the audio section, you'll get more hits that way. Welcome!

Thank you for the reply, I'm still not much wiser on the Lci thing, so my 330d is not Lci with it being April 2008 reg?

Also I would like to make a post in general but due to forum rules must do three posts and then wait 24-48hours! So I will have to jack someone's thread.

I *think* your car is indeed a "pre-LCI" as an '08 model. If your tail lights do not look like mine, then it's a pre-LCI:

The turn signal clusters are also different between the 2 cars, but I don't have a good pic to demonstrate the difference. The tail light is the most obvious way to tell the 2 apart.

The front of the car is also different.
The Kidneys on the LCI is only fixed to the front and not the hood. And there are 2 lines going up the hood from the front on the LCI-model also.

^^ Yep, I knew there were more differences, but the tail lights are the easiest "tell" for me, followed by the front turn signal clusters. It's interesting how much BMW changed the details, while not really "changing" the car!

Yea, I'm glad they don't change that much. Otherwise I would feel I was driving an old car :-). Which I do but it doesn't feel like it :-)

Another question for the 330d thread, is my engine code M57? I used real oem but just picked my model and it said M57 with a GA6HP26Z? what is the service interval on the gearbox? does anyone know?

I hate to say it, but I didn't even realize this thread was here. I'm glad to see it, though.

Dan, congrats on the new ride & welcome to the club! The LCI in Lyman's terms is basically just a quick refresh/minor facelift to an existing vehicle to help sell more cars. if you decide you like the rear of the LCI versions more, it is fairly easy to change the lights & trunk; lots of folks do it. The front is a little more difficult as they changed the hood, kidneys, bumpers, and headlights. That may sound like a lot, but as diner and nielson noted, the differences aren't huge, especially to the untrained eye.

@Dan
The official service interval is lifetime oil. But most ppl change the oil and filter at aprox 100.000km
Mine was changed when I got my car with 167.000km on the clock. Basically because I didn't know if was ever changed and because the car was remaped when I got it.

The engine code IS M57D2. The first generation diesel engines from BMW was M57 and was 184hp in the 330d. Later on it evolved to 204hp and 231hp as ours are.

The gearbox is a 6 speed ZF box capable of transffering aprox 600nm according to ZF. But I know of several 330d's tuned to aprox 300hp/700nm. Mine will quite soon be one of them :-)

One more question for you (or who ever) does this engine have swirl flaps? looked on real oem and there is nothing seperate on the intake manifold?

Cheers dan

You are welcome :-) You just ask all the questions you wan't. Someone is always able to answer.
And yes this engine has swirlflaps. I have recently changed my intake manifold to a new and better one from BMW. Just to be sure that there will be no problems with the flaps. There are solutions out there that can remove the swirlflaps but have no details about it.

If you look at realoem you cannot find the swirlflaps for them selves. They are in the intake manifold with vacuum control and are not sold seperately

This is what you need to change the oil on the gearbox:

Hi me again! got the car now. really impressed it goes like a rocket but is so refined! not like my mk4 golf.

Love the car but not sure if the mpg on the dash is right, its reading 30mpg and thats just with steady driving, i can get it much higher. How ever I checked the hidden menu, 07.00 its reading 77c while driving at 80mph with heaters on low, most it has achieved was 80c. Now i believe it should be around 90c.

Can someone confirm if im right with the coolant temp, I was expecting this car to manage 35-40mpg max but im struggling to maintain 30mpg.

It also has AUC warranty so i kinda hope they will sort it for me. I might fill the tank and do a tank to tank mpg check to confirm my obd is reading correctly aswell
