There is a DIY on how to correct throttle closures caused by overboosts. but not more than that I think.

What are you looking to tweak?

Also, it would be a good idea to load OTS maps and compare them to see what changed

Nothing right now...but maybe at some point to run e85 effectively...ive seen you mention something about changing scalars but I don't know enough yet to touch anything.

scalars are the easiest thing dude! I'm serious it takes exactly 10 seconds to do if you already have ATR. just let me know and I'll walk you through it

One bad boy cylinder...change the coil pack?

Here's the situation:
I have Cobb and PTF protune running 20% ethanol/93 octane (3 gallons E85 in a tank with balance 93 Shell). BMS DCI and Helix FMIC. No DPs.
35,000 miles on original coils.
Changed plugs 4000 miles ago.

All of my cylinders are quiet with essentailly no timing corrections. But once the oil temps reach about 230F, cylinder 1 timing shows corrections up to -9 degrees in stop and go, daily driving. Air temp 68F. All the other cylinders are quiet, perhaps only -3 deg timing corrections here and there in DD (AFR about 14 or 15).
Note: I don't see any timing drops in any cylinders during WOT pulls (AFR -> 12).

Question: why is only cylinder 1 showing the -9 degree timing corrections in DD driving, but not WOT?

I'm thinking that as the plugs are pretty new, but the coils are original, it may be coil #1.

Your thoughts?

I just went over 50 on my car (put a ton of miles on it this past year all fun ) and am hoping friday that fresh coils and plugs (changed almost 11k ago) will take care of my issues.. Not sure what else to do if that doesn't help other than go buy a new car

I'll report back some logs after I make the switch friday.

as enrita said it's totally normal, to further alleviate your fears, your tune has stock timing targets at those low loads. So these timing drops were always there, you just weren't looking for them.

if you want to do the experiment yourself load the OTS race map in ATR, copy the timing table ans paste it on the stage 0 map. compare where the changes were done and you'll see what I'm saying

haha, I found it and am trying to learn/catch up. very interesting stuff, especially PID control theory. I have master's degrees in finance and chemistry so seeing integrals makes my pants tight.

hahaha, I have a degree in electrical and computer engineering so I like this stuff.

Other side has much more tech info and more mature members in general.

lol,

I have a better one:
"will forcing my exhaust flap open cause my engine to blow up?"

After mix control code got thrown I threw it back off stage1+fmic sport and tried stage 1 aggressive with just 93 in it.

Log looks ok to me no codes getting thrown after about 50 miles

WOT was just a quick burst up to 120.
