Help with Datalog files please!

Hi all,
I'm a newbie to forums and apologize if I have posted incorrectly.
I have a 2009 N54 BMW 135i Manual transmission. Mods include cattless DP's , IC , aftermarket sealed intake , CP and Diverter valves. I recently purchased a Cobb AP v3 and have experimented with the stg2+ Aggressive and stg1+ Aggressive maps. The car go's hard on stg1 and is wild on stg2.

I have done some 3rd gear Datalogs using cobb default settings from 2500 rpm to redline with both maps and have viewed them using Virtual Dyno.

I would really appreciate if anyone with good knowledge and experience can view them and tell me if there's any problems that could cause the engine or turbos harm.
P.S I know running the stg1 map with DP's will throw a code. I just did it cause others on here have said they have better results using it.

I'm new to all this and am learning a lot from you guys !Thanks in advance for any help

Log the default parameters. You're tuner may tell you specific things outside of the default list if you're tuning for e85, but start with the defaults.

COBB wants me to do a 3rd gear DATALOG 2500 rpms - 7,000 rpms with my 335is DCT...but whenever I put it in M3 thinking it's "locked" in 3rd gear and floor it, it downshifts to 2nd and shoots right up to 5,500 rpms.

So, how can I force the DCT to stay in 3rd gear from the basement all the way to redline without it downshifting?

Thanks!

Do you floor it all the way (past the pedal button click), or do you stop just prior to it? Press the gas pedal to 95%, not 100%.

I've tried it several ways, but yes I floor it. I'm thinking that's the only way to "request" full power from the engine. Right?

No, the stock map is not linear in regard to pedal position vs. throttle request. Pretty much anything over 70% pedal will request WOT. Press the pedal to the resistance point (kick down button), but don't press past the resistance point. If it downshifts, you went too far with the pedal. Stop the log and try again. Some people put kick down blockers on the pedal if you can't keep yourself from doing it.

Thanks! I just read up on the kickdown blocker...basically a 5/16" spacer to prevent the pedal going all the way down and forcing a downshift. That helps!

Oh no no list.

Don't do it, egts will get too hot and things will go south from there. Anyways, the Stg1+ maps you're running right now are stronger. So there's no point.
I have found that u can push pretty hard with ATR/aggressive tuning with the stock down pipes. I'm sure there's a limit but I'm not there yet.

I was hoping that someone may be able to help me. When I purchased my 335I the previous owner was running a stage 1 aggressive tune and provided me with the access port v2 with the OEM BMW Performance tune installed. I just upgraded the FMIC and will be doing a bit more to it in the next week or so. I downloaded one of the OTS Cobb FMIC tunes and it would not load. I uninstalled the AP and am back to my BMW Performance tune. I have tried every version of the stage 1 FMIC for my 335i on the cob site to see if I was missing something but none of them work. I have reset the AP and even deleted all maps (including the one that came on it) No dice, I have a AP that does nothing for me.
When the AP reads my car it says Confirm that your vehicle matches the ID number BMW N54 (IGX0S) and every map says This map is locked to: xxxxxxxx

What am I missing?

Update, I figured it out.. Cobb has no maps listed for IGX0S computers. Now I need to find out how the original owner got the map that was on it..
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

David

You can use the MHD Flasher to update the car to the latest ROM version. Or get the BMW Tools and use WinKFP.

thanks for the response, does this mean my cars software is just too old for the Cobb maps?

No, you just have an old version of the ROM which should be IGD0S and you really want to upgrade to IJE0S.

Question. I just ordered a v3 and my car is previously installed with a Dinan flash on it. Can the cobb delete or overwrite the previous Dinan flash?

Hi all, running Cobb protune for awhile now, but I think something is wrong with my turbos. Getting overboost from time to time. Also, looks like there may be boost oscillations happening. Could somebody with some logging experience tell me what's going on? This seems to happen even with the tune taken off.

This is a relatively normal run:
http://datazap.me/u/sharkatron/log-1...0&data=7-12-20

And this is one when the overboost error occurred:
http://datazap.me/u/sharkatron/log-1...2&data=7-12-20

TIA!
