ABS and DSC lights

So I was driving home today and the ABS and DSC engine lights came up. I know a couple ppl have had this problem before - with the stability controls.

What were the problems or parts replaced with other people ... ?

I am hoping I dont have to replace my hydrolic DSC pump ... could be expensive.

This is the second big problem I have had with the car -- first was a DME replacement.

I am going to check the exact engine codes tomorrow and post here.

Please let it only be the sensor ...

Ok so I just checked the error codes and they were:

5DF0 - DSC-ECU ECU-internal. RAM address test error.
5DF1 - DSC-ECU ECU-internal. RAM address test error.

Not sure if everyone else with the problem got the same errors.

Any help would be appreciated.

Any garage can fix it... Labour will be around $3000.

The part itself is $17k from valiant... Myself and another forum member have the same problem.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Anyway I drove my car to work today and the lights went off ... sprayed all of my wheel wheels well today - hoping it just might be a dirty sensor.

Going to see if the lights come back on later down the line.

Also you guys said any shop can do the install - but doesnt the DME have to be reprogrammed?

I had those too (after I installed the m3 bits and some other parts.). Fortunately, they went away right after I had the alignment checked. Scared me to death!

Just an update for me ... just got the BMW checked at BMW and they told me its the ECU for the DSC ... so I guess I was unlucky. lol.

Going to order the part from an outside shop and install. The parts is 32K at BMW and I think from what everyone is telling me 17k elsewhere.

Is this an issue only on E9x 335i or on all E9x models?

KEVMO I am going to order for the part store in To Kwan Wan near BMW ... Will most likely take 4-5 weeks. Also do you know if the part can be installed at any garage since the service report from BMW says reprogramming required?

NY911 - It happens in all E9X models. Someone else has the same problem in his 330. But I think the 335 would be more prone since more pressure is put on the system. Another reason in my opinion which does not help is the immense heat in HK. My DME has been replaced too.
