Hello guys,
First of all I want to apologize because I know some of the questions I am going to ask I can search for, but please understand that I am currently in Afghanistan. I bought my 335I with 43K miles with a CPO warranty, it has the sports package, logic 7 stereo and I think that's it. I was only able to drive it for 2 days before I had to come back to Afhan, I'll be home in 3 months for good & am planning on modding a few things. I'm mainly going for looks & won't be making no huge changes, I had a Infiniti G35 sedan before this which I heavily modded but now I will stay away from all that. Included are a few pics, now here are the things I want & a few questions. Is my car pre-LCI or post? I don't know the difference. The only mods I would like are Angel Eyes, a rear spoiler & possibly a different grill? I want to give the car a more sportier look. What do you guys recommend & what's a good place to buy this stuff from? Thanks a lot guys, I greatly appreciate it. UPDATE: Got back from Afghan last week & I've been working on my car, bought a few things here & there. Just waiting for the Alufelgen SF-71's to come back in-stock so I can get those too. I also ordered some MTEC AE's from E92-lighting, added Matte black grill, MTECH Spoiler, Splitters & OEM blacklines. Last edited by Dominican1NYC; 05-01-2011 at 05:33 PM.. Reason: Update |

Congrats
Congratulations on your purchase, and welcome to the club.
Yes, you have a pre-LCI car - the 2009 and onwards were LCI. I personally prefer teh pre-LCI look - IMHO it comes off better in the E90 look. Last but not the least - thank you for the work you are doing for the country! |

I would recommend that if possible, have someone drive this vehicle as much as possible, to uncover anything that needs to be addressed under the original warranty. I didn't think it would be the case, but I'm finding that only within 30 days of my warranty expiring, there are things that are no longer covered even under the 7/100 gold that I would have had addressed with SIB's had I have known. In some sense, it never ends with these cars, but the forum combined with constant driving can uncover things to be fixed under warranty.

Congrats on the new car and thanks for your service.
Nice looking ride. I just bought the same year last week and I love it. I'm also looking at the same mods (minus the spolier). I just ordered the black performance grill yesterday from http://getbmwparts.com based on the recommendations from here. I ordered in the morning and got a ship notice about 4 hours later. As far as the angel eyes, do you want to wire them so they are on all the time or just upgrade to the LED lights? Either way, it seems like a pain on our cars and I'm not sure I want to mess with the wiring. I guess the older I get, the less I want to mess with things. |

Thanks for the kind welcome guys. I thought that it had a lot of miles too but they are all mostly Highway driving & the car was well taken care of so I figured it wasn't a big deal. I drove it & fell in love with it & had to buy it, hehe.
@ Jagamov, thanks for the advice. I'm looking at that website right now. As for the angel eyes, I just want something plug & play & I just want them on when I have the lights on. Any recommendations? I was looking at the MTECH AE's but I'm not sure if those would work. I forgot to mention, the 1st pic is our PLT & the 2nd pic is of me & half my squad, my other guys were on leave. I'm the 2nd one from the left, SSG Betancourt. Take care guys. Last edited by Dominican1NYC; 12-28-2010 at 06:33 AM.. |

Amen to that! The car looks awesome, congrats. I'd concider Angle Eyes, I went w/ Lux5's. M3 trunk lip spoiler. And maybe a front lip full splitter spoiler. GL and be safe! |

How's the M-ATV working for you guys there? One of my brothers is the lead engineer for Oshkosh Truck! I'm retired 06 myself still supporting the efforts out of CENTCOM HQ.

That's good to hear about you & your brother. Osh Kosh couldn't have done better than this, this is a great step up from HMMWV. The only issues that we have are the doors not being able to unlock from the outside & us having to take them apart & tighten the bolts which fixes it, the fire suppression system loosing pressure once in a while & the hard cold starts now that it's below freezing here. These are minor issues though, everything else is great. We have put these things through hell & they're still working strong, we got ours new when we got here & we have over 6K miles on them with no major issues. Thanks & take care.

Burger has a set of LED lights and the Weisslicht seem to be popular...just seems like a hassle to change them. Let me know if/when you change them out and how hard it was for you. |

Thanks for the service....I would say stick with the mtecs, the fully pnp feature is perfect and I think they have the best color light out of all (some are too blue)....Anyways, congrats and welcome!

Congrats! I bought a 2008 E90 335xi (black sapphire) with similar miles about a month and a half ago.
For mods, I had similar desires to what you describe, i.e. mostly cosmetic. The first thing I did was get black kidney grilles. You can get them at Tischer, circlebmw, Jlevistreetwerks.com, **********s.com etc. Another popular item are blackline LED taillights. Really adds to the look of the car IMO. Mine shipped yesterday from Jlevi. Not sure if yours is a 6-speed, but I also really like the perforated leather M-shift knob. For adding a more aggressive, wide stance, check out some hubcentric spacers for your wheels. Most of the places I listed above have plenty of options. I haven't made the plunge yet on a spoiler, but jbspeed.com seems to have a lot of interesting options. I am also looking to upgrade to some LED Angel Eyes. I'm still doing some research, but I haven't decided if I want to try the Daeos DRL harness, for making Angel Eyes operate as my DRL. I also can't decide which Angel Eyes to get from the many options. I do see people on here recommend Weisslicht, Lux, and MTEC frequently though. Good luck, and thanks for what you guys do! |

congradulations on a awesome car, a car that will be HARD to top. also, thank you for what you are doing for our country!
if I may ask... since it has 40K+ miles, how much did you get the car for? they should have given you an awesome price, given the miles and what you do for US! beautiful blue color, would also love to see the interior... enjoy and stay safe. |

forgot to add... yes they are pre LCI, same as mine, and in my opinion better looking. I love that wheel and I would NOT exchange that for another!
