Exactly what I thought...sounded pretty crazy, this is the first time I'm leasing a vehicle, so a little lost as to what I should be looking for.

I mean the $329/month is appealing but.....................

Don't put anything down, have everything rolled in, and pay invoice. Simple as that

In my opinion, it's crazy to put that kind of money on a lease cap cost reduction. Remember that if the car is totaled in an accident, you lose all that money instantly. Not to mention other factors such as time value of money.

Perhaps consider the Multiple Security Deposits program, where you put down multiple (up to 7) MSDs to bring down the lease money factor. The best part about this is that you get a check back at lease end for every penny you put in as MSDs.

Anyway you could go into more detail about the Multiple Security Deposits, or let me know where I can find some literature on it??

The MSD program allows you to buy down the money factor (MF). The MF equates to your interest rate. Each additional security deposit lowers the MF by 0.00007, up to a maximum of 7 security deposits or 0.00049 off the base MF (which, for September 2011, is 0.00195 or 4.68%). So right now, the MSD program lowers the MF to 0.00146 or 3.5%.

Next, you need to calculate your MSD outlay - this is what you will pay BMWFS at lease inception to lower the MF. A typical SD is your monthly payment rounded up to the next $50. In other words, take your monthly payment after all other factors (rebates, loyalty discount, cap cost reduction, and negotiated purchase price) and round it up to the nearest $50.

For a realistic example, let's assume a $45,000 selling price, 60% residual, 0.00195 MF, and 36 months. A straight lease on that comes to $560/mo. Your SD on this lease would be $600. Multiply that by 7 to get $4200 - that's what the MSD program will cost you at lease inception.

So how is handing BMWFS a check for $4200 beneficial to you? Running the same lease with the lower 0.00146 MF drops the payment to $525/mo. So that's a $35/mo savings or $1260 over a 36 month lease. Not only do you save $1260 over 3 years, but you get a check back from BMWFS at lease termination for the full $4200 (less excessive wear and tear or mileage overages, which you would need to pay regardless). Using simple interest, that's a 10% per year guaranteed tax-free rate of return.

This is a great option if you have some cash laying around. It's a solid investment opportunity, and the rate of return is actually very good.

Hope that explains it. If you still have questions, post up!

He provided a terrific no hassle quote, maximizing my savings and getting me the best deal, it was the lowest I could find anywhere. And when I was just trying to negotiate my original local-dealer deal, he was terribly helpful and informative, without any real shot at my business. I will say my next order will be through him and I advise anyone looking at ordering a car to email Ryan and talk with him first. Your local dealer will not be able to match his deal. Hope this saves someone from the mistake I made!
However, I do have a brand spanking new 335xi so I can't really complain as Id pay >1k to drive this beast.

Best of luck to you guys!
I have to 2nd this post. Ryan DESTROYED every offer I'd received from local Detroit area dealers, and this was all within 5 minutes of talking with the guy.

10 years ago I wouldn't have dreamed of buying a car from CA, but with the internet, it's as easy as pie.

I ordered the exact car I wanted from the factory, did a PCD in SC, and then drove my car home to Detroit.

I highly recommend Ryan Amico to anyone here. Trust me, you have nothing to lose, and it's a 5 minute phone call...

^^Thank you for the kind words Ryan is the man! Just as a heads up to everyone, Ryan and his wife just welcomed a brand new baby earlier this week so he is out of the office till monday.

I have Kwinn and Ryan's admin Checa handling all the emails that come in while he is out. Ryan is still in constant contact with Kwinn and Checa. Thanks again for all your support guys and gals of the forum we all really appreciate it!

As golffrr says, Ryan is the man! I browsed through this forum and especialy this post on lease deals for 2011. I decided to email Ryan last week. He seemed pretty busy, but I didn't try to push him too much. And to my surprise, he told me his wife is going into labor! So I told him not to rush coming back. He asked Kwinn to help me out with my quote. Here is what I got:

335i coupe xDrive
le mans blue metallic
saddle brown dakota leather
dark burl walnut wood trim
convenience package
m sport package
premium package
navigation system
harman kardon
ipod and usb adapter

MSRP 57150
Invoice: 53120
SELLING PRICE: 51580
Money factor: 0.00136 after 7 max security deposits (september MF is 0.00185, went up from 0.00175 in August.. oh well)
Residual for 24 months & 10k/yr = 70% (lower than what I thought)

I pay nothing upfront except the license/registration in WA (and 7 security deposits), approximately $500 and pay ~$600 + tax.

I highly recommend Ryan Amico or Kwinn Knight @ Steve Thomas BMW. I checked most BMW dealers on the west coast and they can't beat that.

EDIT:
jopa489 stated that the MF for september is 0.00195 which I thought as well, according to ridewithg.com's released rates for BMW. But Kwinn gave me 0.00185! So no complaints there.

Hey dlee, did you have to negotiate much with Kwinn to get that deal? Especially that amazing selling price. Just comparing what I got from Ryan and when I'm finally ready to lease I'm looking to get a deal closer to yours.

I was quoted an MSRP of $51,900, Invoice of $48,330 and a selling price of $48,830 + tax and license.

24 month lease 15k miles per year

Total out of pocket - $1760.95 + $5600(MSD’s) + DMV (I'm looking to roll the $1700 into the monthly payments)

Payment - $780 includes estimated taxes

When I'm ready I'll have to ask for the MF and the residuals for 15k/year because the lease payment seems very high. I may also have to raise the MSRP to around $55,000 with some extra options so I really need to work on this deal

@BobusAj, which vehicle are you leasing? I'm not exactly sure if that matters, but mine is for 335i coupe xDrive. Perhaps they can discount significantly more to fully-loaded vehicles, as mine is pretty much fully loaded.

I sent Ryan/Kwinn exactly what I wanted. For MF values and residuals go to:

http://www.ridewithg.com/index.php/2...eptember-2011/

With my configurations of my 335i coupe xDrive built on bmwusa.com and the bmw lease rates, I sent Ryan an email of what I wanted. I did not do much negotiating at all! Just waited for a couple days because they were/are so busy.

One reason why your monthly is still higher than mine is because your mileage is 15k/yr. I'm doing only 10k/yr. You take about ~3% hit in residual value compared to 10k/yr. That's pretty significant when you calculate the monthly. For me, my monthly goes up from ~600+tax to ~670+tax.

Also, i dont know why you're paying almost 1761 upfront (besides the sec deposit). Do you know what it is comprised of? I'm paying ~1100 (1st month + title/registration).

@dlee I'm trying to lease the 335i coupe. I'm going to configure it again on the bmwusa website because the quote I got was missing a few of the options I requested. Thanks for the MF values and the residuals. I still have time before I can pull the trigger anyway so I'll work on getting a good deal. I've heard such good things about golfrrr and Ryan on this forum that I'm sure I can make it work.

I am beginning to look at coupes and went to my stealership today.

They had a demo 335is coupe with 14k miles on it that I loved. It had cold weather package, premium, nav.

2011 335is coupe
AW/Black Dakota
ZCW
ZPP
Nav
6MT
“demo” with 14k miles

36 month/15k a year

$1475 cash due at sign, includes 1st pymnt.

$796 tax included. FOR A DEMO

WTF

I scoffed at the price, and asked her to look up a lease on a 2012 335i coupe with JUST the M sport package, and she said $810/36 months/15k a year.

Help? I just emailed Ryan, hopefully he can beat these prices. I mean $810 a month for a base 335i? no thank you...

And, those sweet people “graciously” offered me $12k on my beautiful 330i lol.

I got a question tho... is higher residual better or lower residual ? if its lower residual, that means you'd pay less to buy the car out... better? help me out

@335 oClock,

Your MSRP is $3500 less than my configuration, so the difference is obvious. If my MSRP was 56350, my monthly would be $569 + tax.

Regards to your residual question. It depends on what you want in the lease deal. If you're planning to buy out the car at the lease's end, then low residual + low MF is the best way. You're paying mostly for the depreciation of the car and low financing rate during the lease. You want to pay for the vehicle than the interest. I do not want to buy out the car, so higher residual lease to less amount of depreciation I have to pay.
