i asked them to not detail my car by fear of having them swirl the paint. my worry now is that they would do as shitty of a job taking that out as they did putting this on (see how it's not even straight and angled!), like swirling this piece of the trunk or something.

so, i'll take care of this myself when i have a chance, it seems like it would peel off fairly easily, maybe i'll try hot water since i can't get a hairdryer in my garage, then just my 'magic hands' as koreez88 did

yeah, i knew it. i just completely forgot about it the day they told me that they received the car and could pick up the next day

i'm glad i remembered to tell them to not wash it though! got a free post break-in oil change instead (i.e. exchanged the complimentary 'detailing' for an oil change).

I'd tell the dealer you want it removed. I can't imagine they wouldn't take it off. Thankfully my dealer is pretty cool, no stickers on any of their cars but I did get a dealer license plate frame.

how do you remove those plastic dealer badges? Hair dryer and floss? Its like a plastic roundel with the dealerships name on it. Adds extra clutter to the rear of the vehicle. any thoughts/

Did you get your car from BMW of San Fran? I had that sticker too and I
removed it the same day I got the car. Some soapy water and VERY VERY
carefully use your nail to lift the edge of each letter and then pull them off.
Some alcohol to remove any glue residue and you are done. That's what I
did and it worked fine without any swirls or marks on the paint.

Yeah same way you would take the 328i or 335i off of the trunk...

yup. BMWSF, thus the sticker that says 'BMW of San Francisco' i doubt another dealer would tag the car this way

will take care of that this weekend and post the results

2018 F80 M3  [10.00]
2013 BMW E93 M3  [10.00]
That is the reason I would never buy a BMW from SF.

Thumbs up

well, afterall, it was really piece of cake to get rid of this stuff!
i got myself way more worried than i should have!

it was so simple: just slightly pulled off the edge of each letter with one nail, then pulled it off slowly, one letter at a time... there wasn't even any glue left after that, or nothing that couldn't be wiped out by just passing a finger on top of it. i was ready to use tar/bug removal and stuff, but really that's not even necessary

so, it's all gone, took 5mn, using the 'magic hands' technique

so, if you get your bimmer from BMWSF, don't forget to ask them to not put this stuff on. if you forget like me, no biggie, it's really simple to take it off!

yeah ive seen alot of dealers doing that. i thought dealers (in new york at least) would only put it on used cars not of that origin. IE. an Audi dealer selling a porsche would slap it on the back. that sucks, hope they stop doing that crap or at least give u a discount! (like what? 50$? lol)

Glad it was easily solved.

OMG People... Again, those are STICKERS, that you remove with hands and some goo gone afterwards. Not dental floss, not heating gun, HANDS!
BMWSF does have a horrible service though, but that's another problem.
