I am going to get one of these for my 162's and Breytons. I am not sure how well they work but for the price it is worth a try.

Pretty sure I came across this from the forum under DIY last year (but had it bookmarked in my browser)

http://www.bmwtips.com/tipsntricks/w...uff-repair.htm

Considered giving it a try, but ultimately ended up using a guy who does some wheel repair work for my local dealer. I am rather particular with my car, so I decided it was worth it to pay someone for professional results.

My previous car, an A4 had curb rash on all 5 of its rims. Last summer i filled, sanded, filled, sanded and painted all 5 of my rims over the course of 5 weekends. Worked great and passed inspection when I traded it in last December. Give it a try, what have you got to lose.
