328XI Sedan wheel specs

Guys, I have a 07 328xi sedan with the stock 16s and am looking to either upgrade to a nicer 17in sport BMW setup or go with some 18s aftermarket.

I'm getting some mixed statements on what the rims size should be...I would have thought with AWD, all wheels should be the same?

IE, is 8x17 et 34, 8.5x17 et 37 not correct?

Can someone share what the wheel specs should be for both a 17in and 18in setup?

Thanks!

The only additional consideration you have to make with the xdrive is the rolling diameter of the wheel/tire combination. I'm not very familiar with the offsets, but you can have a staggered wheel width setup if that's your question.

For example I have an 08 328xi with staggered 189s, 18x8/18x8.5. Hope this helps.

Garage List
Go to Tirerack and enter your car year and model. It will show the optional tire and wheel size for that year.

If you go to the BMW site and configure a new 328xi or 335xi, it will show you what the optional sizes are today.

For the xi's or awd cars, the outside diameter has to be almost the same size. width and ratio are less important, with respect to your question about same size.

Weight is as important as any other consideration when "upgrading" wheels and tires.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I always thought it was best to run a square setup on an AWD car so wasn't sure.

easier to rotate tires if you have a square setup.

18x8 with 225/40/18
18x8.5 with 255/35/18

This is the stock xi + sport + 18's setup from the factory.

There needs to be <1% difference to not cause damage.
