Anyway there is a spot in the lower grille thats normally covered. They say you can either leave it closed or open it. I think if I get one of these I would open it. The filter is enough above the opening that it would not be in the direct path of water getting in. You can make it out in this picture open. Lower left.

This is very similar to the msds CAI....Ill tel you what though if you have the cold weather package or the headlight washers, it is direclty where the intake lands. Theeres not much room in there when the fender liner goes back on. If you notice the intake in the bumper that goes to the brakes, you can take the left side of that intake off. So the air will fill into that area. Thats what i did for the msds, cause my intake sat closer behind the foglight i didnt know if air would travel well to it. If you take that cover off more air wil wnter like a path directly to it.

This UR intake looks great though....wish it came out 2 weeks ago. I got inpatient with Bavdom and got the msds CAI. Another good thing about msds you can go from short ram to cold air very easy if you have 2 filters like i do. Lata

This will def. clear the AA bov... Ihad it with the msds and it was alot tighter fitment. Itll work though. The bov would blow right onto the pipe probable, but no biggie i would think.

On another note about the bov's... I noticed a big difference in going back to stock divereters. They say you dont lose power with a bov, but i disagree. And its not like i have anyhting against bovs, cause i have the AA one and i love it, but id rather have performance. I miss the noise but love the more responsive boost. When switch between gears your spool up takes alot longer than with the diverters. The divereters give you a surge of power between shifts when driving hard. Bov's dont. lata

Anyway, only thing I don't like about it is the size of the filter and the loss of that brace, no real way around either things though. Best looking CAI out there right now with some real benefits over the competition.

But wait, it's the cheapest of all of them?

Hell has frozen over.
Since it is 3" couldn't we just put one of the dyno glory filters on the end of it?

At least you can use one of the dyno glory filters on this CAI. The one they provide is kinda small....

The MSDS is great, i drove with it when it was pouring out here all last week and never had a problem with water. I didnt make a full charge pipe for the diverters but i took out the flimsy rubber hose on the charge pipe and put a bigger samco hose with a 45 degree bend so it flows better and is not getting pinched.

Having that big open space there kind of bugs me.

That's just my opinion.
so funny, i ALWAYS think the same thing whenever i see a CAI.
..i would pay decent bucks just to smooth things out in the engine bay.
wouldn't you??

I really like this intake...to the point where I would buy one. The problem is that empty space in place of the stock box. I will wait for what Dinan has to offer. I would pay extra for looks as well.

absolutely no offense meant by this........but that is kind of obvious w/ the mods on your car so far .

Intake looks great....I'm sold. Sorry Logic, you lost me as a potential customer if I can get this intake soon.

I know that it would no longer have a function, but for purely aesthetic purposes would we be able to keep the front half of the factory snorkel in place so there wouldn't be a huge gap of nothing in front of the engine bay? Just an idea.

I looks like the intake is one long piece. Will this be hard to install since its one long piece? Ever think about cutting it into two pieces and using a coupler to attach the two? Will this affect the flow of air going in?
