What is your wishlist for the E90 update?

With the update around the corner, what is your wishlist for changes, besides the visual changes we see in other posts?

I will start:

1. An end once and for all to the Run Flat woes - perhaps the Active Suspension from the M3 to match that offered on the new C Class

2. Something to slot in between the 325 and 335 - The 330d which is in other markets, or a 328i perhaps??

3. Dual clutch "auto"

4. (this one is very unlikely, but here goes) the stop-and-go active cruise from the 5

5. The joystick shifter

I agree 100% with the run-flats. but i just don't see it happening. to not have runflats you would find yourself in these 3 situations:
1. spare tire
2. space saver
3. mobility kit as standard

the first 2 scenarios will put off the balance of the car and therefore the entire car will have to go back to the drawing board.
the third option is a possibility but not sure if BMW will want to go with it from a safety point of view?

Here we go, latest close up spy pics of the E90 facelift;
http://www.leftlanenews.com/bmw-3-se...edan-2010.html
Note the LED tail lights that have a reverse light similar to that on the E46 facelift.
It seems like BMW is reserving LED tail lights for mid life facelifts these days....

Yes

I was thinking along the lines of further suspension development so that the harder riding qualities are dialed out. The most recent review of the M3 (can't remember if it was Wheels or Motor) said that it was the best riding RFT BMW they had driven, and that was due to the active suspension BMW have employed.

I am thinking like the magnetic ride tech, or something...

M3 = no RFT therefore adds to my view that motoring jurno's keep speaking out of the "behinds". All they ever seem to do is blast around for a couple of days and give a very subjective view. Mind you - If it paid well, I'd take that role!!

Interesting - I just visited the BMW Australia site and noticed that the 325i sold there has a 2,497 cc engine, while the 325i sold in the US (it's discontinued now) has a 2,995 cc engine.

I dont think the RFs are going anywhere - at the 3series fascination day I went to they were really pushing the safety aspect of RFs. They showed that video where Tiff Needal compared a puncture on a standard tire versus a RF at high speed - needless to say the Non-RF car slipped out of control...

What's your price? Mine out the door was 55k USD. For 55k, I have quite a few choices where the fuel pump won't fail multiple times, won't rattle, won't jerk, and will maintain it's resale value much better (20k USD depreciation in a year).

HAHAHAHAHA 55K (60k) USD will barely even get you in a new 320i povo pack (no options at all) drive away in Australia!
In australia a 325i is close to 100k aud (95k usd) on the road. An M3 is 165k aud+ on the road, which translates to 157k usd.
Needless to say cars in the US are cheap as chips and in Australia we get ass raped. So don't expect any sypathy in the Aus section for people in the US who dare say that their cars are expensive.

Lol, for gas as you call it, or petrol as it's called here, in Aus we pay $1.6 per litre, thats $1.5 USD per litre, now again, compare that to what it costs in the US and i think you'll find you still pay half of what we do.

Yeah, the 323i in aus has a 2,497 cc engine as well.
On that the 125i in australia has the 2,995 cc engine (albeit a tuned down version), so i would expect us to see a 325i or 328i with the 2,995 cc engine released with the E90 facelift.
