Maintenance wiper blades cheap?

Had my 328 2011 in for its first annual maintenance. They put on new blades and the damn things are noisy as hell at the apex of the swing. And I am pretty sure the rubber surface area looks a LOT thinner/smaller. Am I going nuts or are the replacement blades different than factory?

Try Bosch Icon, about $20 per blade but well worth it IMO.

I think my wipers are deteriorating as well. Anyone have any recommendations for wiper replacements? Should I go OEM?

Ill second that. Recently replaced my OEM with these and am very happy. In fact, I then used these to replace wipers on my fiance's Hyundai and her sister's Audi.

It looks exactly the same. I didn't even know BMW offered free wiper replacement once a year. I went in for a service and the guy was like, "Do you need new wipers? Might as well, you get free replacements once a year"

YEs Bosch. Don't skimp on wipers. I'll admit I'm anal about certain things and having wipers that do nothing but leave streaks is one of them.

No, it's part of the maintenance program that expires with your warranty.

All of you guys that went non oem, I tried that and the little cap that covers the connector wouldn't go back on. So I just threw a ton of rain x on. I went to auto zone, do any of you have part numbers for the trico or Bosch you bought?

With the Bosch Icon wipers I bought, I initially had the same problem. You will need to take a flathead screwdriver and pop the plastic cover off the Bosch wiper, essentially leaving only the metal pin from the original assembly. Then slide onto wiper arm and enjoy.

I'm from Australia and my bmw dealer charge me a pair of blades around $160-180AU. Ouch! Then I search and found the oem blades in Uk on ebay for just $7.95 plus postage is $27AU bucks. Its damn good and quiet.
I also found out that these oem blades are made to fit, so I don't need to put the covers connectors back.
Still can't believe how much profit BMW is charging us.

The replacement wipers under the maint plan suck. You can order the OEM that came on the car for $80 bucks though. BMW will not pay for those.

May sound stupid, but I've done it on my other non-BMW cars for about $5 / blade and they install it for free: Can you not just replace the rubber blade and keep the frame?
