service costs
hi all,
for those in the know, would you be able to advise how many labour hours it should take a mechanic to do an oil change + change rear brake pads and rotors? just want to know if I am being ripped off or not. car is an e90 323i. cheers. |

Hi nav. I recently had my rear rotors, pads and sensor done. I'd say it took my mechanic about 1-1.5 hrs max to complete the job. With an oil change, which i didn't have done, probably 2 hrs max. All up the job cost me $370.All parts used were BMW OE.

so this was parts and labour for the rear rotors, pads and sensor. that's a very good price. I was getting quoted around $550 here in Sydney (stealerships wanted $770).
ok, so the 3 hours labour I was charged is reasonable (for oil service, rear brakes and a general once over). |

oil service, rear pads, rear rotors, adjust hand brake shoes, brake sensor and autologic setup.
labour 1.7hrs but this could change if the rotors are stuck then you will be up for shop supplies extra $20 and another .5 in labour. Last edited by Kiwi Peter; 08-17-2012 at 05:00 AM.. |
