Independent Lease Companies

Howdy!

Im thinking of going thru an independent lease company for my next 335. Do you guys have ANY information on:

1. disadvantages
2. advantages
3. which companies are reputable
4. which are best service (lowest price, no BS, etc)?

im looking at LeaseCompare and LeasePrime right now...

thanks

alright here are the answers

1. I dont know
2. hmmm... no idea
3. ummm...beats me
4. I really have no idea

On a serious note, I dont think you will find a lot of info about it here because most, if not all, people who leased did it on their own. That's why we have a whole section devoted to new car ordering and leasing, etc. Let me know what you need and perhaps I can help you find a good deal *unless it's the M3.

Your better off going straight through the dealer. You can find out wholesale pricing either here or www.bimmerfest.com, and you can find out what the exact money factor is and residuals so that the dealer cant scew you. So why would you need a leasing company? There was one and for the life of me I cant remember the name that wanted to give me a .00325 money factor on a car that was supposed to be .00235. Granted in the end I wound up doing ED and had a MF of .00265 but thats still a hell of lot better than the .00325

He said yeah, you wanna lease this Mercedes instead? I couldn't fathom a car being 2 years old, going for 17k, being leased. Buy it, or if you don't have the money, don't buy it was my thinking.

The concept is so powerful, nobody likes Rent to Own appliances, the idea of having a landlord, or subprime, but people do love their leases. Lots more flash for that small payment. There will always be secondary and tertiary markets for everything. When there is money to be made, humans can get awfully creative.

you get higher residual at indie companies, lower MF (coz finance department at dealer takes a share of that money), you get to walk out of your lease whenever you want. that sounds good to me!!

I have a friend who leases 3 year old cars. His payment on 745 is like $300. he gets them with some warranty on them. sounds good IMO!

Nabil try going to Bimmerfest. Their AskADealer forum is really good for lease type questions. Not sure if it can help with 3rd party leases but it is worth a shot.

I remember seeing that third party companies are cheaper if you get a longer lease, 4 year or sometimes 3yr.

Better set aside another $500 mo. for maintenance on that used 745 (pay out of one's own pocket, to maintain someone else's property--brilliant!). Or if he really likes his concept, go and lease a used Audi A8. Talk about bleeding money...

I've been dealing with Signature Leasing and they came back with a fairly good lease payment. I just don't know much about how to deal with them.

MSRP: $47,100
Money Factor: .00215
Residual: 64% or did he say 68%
Payment = $574.00

I haven't negotiated price. Has anyone dealt with independent leasing company's? Sounds better than going through a dealer...
