Well if that is the case can anyone in the South Jersey area with experience provide me with the flash? It might be better since I tend to fearlessly get in way over my head. Thanks for the warning.

Basically in a nut shell, but that shell is quite thick and takes alot of understanding to get into the shell..

Like I said there is not much literature on flashing modules with Winkfp or the matter of using the software like NCSexpert as such.

But if you guys want the official user guide handbook here it is...

You need the right cable, you need the correct software and it needs to be configured correctly. You need to import all the SP-Daten-E89 files into WinKFP and you need to make sure you have an 03/07 and newer MCM/TCU.

So like cn555ic said, you need to know what you're doing because you mess up and brick your car, you'll be walking.

Are you sure about the 03/07 date? Where does it come from? Do you think it won't work with my 10/2006 build date? Not keen to brick anything

Perfect. You'll like this flash. More I drive my car the more I love how quick M shifts and how smooth the trans feels.

Sorry to bust your bubble, but in 2/07 BMW had a build change. The ZF 6HP19 has a different MCM/TCU in the 03/07 build. If you look on Car-Part.com and pull up 07 Transmissions, you'll see it has a date split for two models. If you want this, wait till your trans fails and upgrade to a newer trans with the newer MCM/TCU.

BTW, I tried to code a 02/07 car tonight and got an error 201. Same thing another friend with an 02/07 car got. So unless your car has a newer transmission installed, I'm 100% sure you will not get this installed.

Ah damn Thanks for the info. So I'll wait for some longer terms experience from cars with upgraded turbos, or til my tranny breaks. Whatever comes first

Yeah, unfortunately that's the one limitation we've found so far. Time to upgrade.

Wedge said that he raised his red line prior to the flash. Im refering to post 79. I was asking him if he could do that while he is at HPF flashing my car.

Oh man I am sorry I misread it

...If its indeed 07/06 it is not going to work, but your bringing the tranny to get rebuild...Mind as well see if its possible to update the mechatronics to the newer version...I am not sure but that seems to be the reason why early builds wont work with this flash..Call the level10 guys and see what they say.

By "correct cable," if we have successfully coded our car, I imagine that cable suffices?

Thanks guys!

My co worker is buying a ctsv today. So we ll be lining up soon

Its really amazing the interest in this flash, which I can understand why as it is indeed ground breaking for the platform.. What really amazes me is the fact that some folks want it so bad and havent done one ounce of coding ever before and want to jump right into ADVANCE flashing which even experience coders dont often do. Guys if you havent worked with coding before, please have someone do this for you as the chances of bricking the tranny module is HUGE. Please tread carefully man. Sometimes these threads are not the best as it makes things sound so easy that anyone can do!
