My car strays to the right...
When I'm driving (highway or local) and I have the steering wheel in the center position, my car strays to the right. If I want to go straight, I have to position my steering wheel slightly to the left. It doesn't seem to make a difference which lane of the highway I'm on (whether on the left most lane or right lane). I'm also aware of the "crowning" phenomenon of most roads.
Does this mean I have an alignment issue? I never really put much attention to it until I hit a pretty big pothole on the highway (going about 70mph). Thanks for any input...

yeah you have an alignment issue. I had the same thing but I also had another problem which was my steering wheel kept on locking so i suggest you take it to the dealer but i had to replace my steering column due to the fact of my steering wheel lock

pulling
While it is most likely an alignment issue I have never had cars as touchy as bmw's re: air pressure. I can tell when the tires are uneven with pressure as it
will start to pull. Check your pressure and make sure both sides are the same front and back and see what happens - its cheap and easy. Also tire pressure in bmw's greatly changes the handling. It is fun to play with. It is worth trying the pressures for over 100 mph that are not on the label. 41 rear 37 front. |

My pressures are as follows:
Front: 32psi (left and right) Rear: 36 psi (left and right) I have the 18" sport package wheels, so I'm assuming those are adequate measurements. I just don't want the techs to start poking and prodding around. Isn't it possible for them to just put my car on the alignment bed and see if the specs are off?

really there is another myth that says that you should not wear your seat belt because you may not be able to escape if the car fires.
