They both reached the zenith of their popularity around the same time, in the early to mid nineties, Tribe with Low End Theory and Midnight Marauders, and Ace with Slaughtahouse and Sittin' on Chrome. Ace debuted a bit earlier than tribe in the late 80's with the Juice Crew in "The Symphony". They really aren't all the similar though, IMO. I don't want to thread-jack too much (probably have already, sorry). Ace is a legend though, and if you really like old school hip-hop you've got to have some of his work in your playlist IMO. This should give you an idea of the difference between Ace and ATCQ. These two songs are both off of Slaughtahouse.
