mObridge bluetooth + e92 coupe?

I've got the e92 2007 coupe, with phone buttons, standard non-idrive radio.

I assume since the car has the buttons, its pre-wired even though there's no BT, but still not sure if the mObridge thing will work.

Pretty sure the mObridge unit will work with that. Has anyone tried?

It's a bit cheaper than bmw factory stuff, its ~ $700 not including install.

A detail shop offered $350 to do the install, so its still up there at $1100+ to get bluetooth phone working.

Any other cheaper options? we should come up with something cheaper than $1100 for simple bluetooth enabling.

I thought BT was standard?

EDIT: Just kidding - learn something new every day.

There is no pre-wire when fiber optics is involved. Since it is a non-idrive, there is probably no fiber wires run in the vehicle. He will have to have someone with an Autologic device to code the telephone/Bluetooth on in the car. Then he can install the M1000-M-BT1-BMW1. The dealer cannot program it on, has to be someone with an Autologic tool.

I don't like aftermarket decks but

But for that price you could put one in that had Bluetooth Nav a Rear camera and a bunch of other stuff. The problem is there are a lot of side effects due
to the interdependence of the electronics.

You should do some research on the Electronics sub board here.

There is also a bluetooth sticky at the top of the page there

which is were this thread should be and has much more info than you will
get here.

look at the dynavin thread and read it carefully

Also aftermarket head units don't work with the existing amp if you have logic 7
