For anyone who has done this, does it "fix" the issue of jerking forward when you take your foot off the brake from a standstill during warm up mode?

Wouldn't that be e-brake related?

Either way, I've done it and don't notice the jerking forward feel..

It's to do with the Neutral Idle Control and there is a TSB about it so assumed it's normal

I thought that was just me and the way I drive. I will let you know if the car still does it.

Neutral Idle Control normally has the effect of creeping forward/thumps when the car has come to a stop, not when you take your foot off the brake.

I haven't experienced that before. Only jolting forward from a standstill when i remove my foot from the brakes and the transmission reengages. And only during warm up.

I assume NIC can be coded off?

Will this flash work on other engine variants or is it only suitable for 335i's?

Only N54 and N55 engines in 3 series and 1 series as the flash was from the Alpina B3 e92 335i I think some guy was trying to get it to work on a 5 series.

I finally got around to doing this flash. It really wasn't too hard, with no prior coding experience I just ordered a cable from ebay (about $50 delivered) and followed one of the video guides in the coding section for setting up the software. Once its set up and installed you just follow the directions in the Alpina B3 flash DIY thread. The flashing takes less than 5 minutes.
