N55 owners: now you have an ebay downpipe, too
stumbled across this on ebay today, it's most likely a chinese replica of an existing downpipe on the market. n54 guys have had decent luck running ebay pipes though (raceland, plc, etc)

May be a cheap chinese replica but it looks pretty solid to me. Somebody with an N55 try it out... it's a deal and the dude says he accepts offers.

I'd offer him $200 and see what happens.

What are you supposed to do, have the mounting tabs welded on after purchase?

piping is piping (assuming its the same gauge steel), as long as it fits it wouldn't be a bad option that could save you at least $200.

Don't cheap out...you have a $50K car, why would you buy non-quality parts for it? Makes no sense..should've just gone the JDM route if you wanted to cheap out.

I've been running this exact downpipe since May. I did some test fitting for them. Same fitment as other downpipes. It's not perfect, you might have to mess with it a little, but it works. No different than AR in my opinion. The welds are great and the quality is fantastic for the price. I would suggest this if you are on a budget! Even if you arent, same quality in my opinion.

I wouldn't buy this, you can snag up a USED Vishnu or AR off the FS sections for $450...

The cheaper route is just to gut your current downpipe. We did that with my friends 135i.

^ I would, because they can blame the DP for anything that happens with the turbo/engine. Which I think is BS because it let's the car exhaust better. As soon as they see it they will probably flag the car or make note of it for future reference.
For example. I had an subwoofer system in my old 08 335xi and they seen it and made a note on the receipt that unauthorized modifications were made to the battery and the head unit, and may cause problems in the future. They didn't flag it to BMW NA but kept it internal within their customer account system |
